She didn't want to talk about her past. That much was clear to Jaime and he wasn't going to push it either. There was no sense it that, nor would it do either of them any good. If she wanted to speak about it she would and he would listen. It was the best he could offer her. But as she pulled away from him apologizing he kept his eyes on her. Not letting her feel bad for any of it. She'd done nothing wrong. "Don't apologize, You've not done anything wrong that I can tell and you are allowed to cry." She was anyway, a woman, she could show her emotions in whatever way was best for her. It was a way for her to heal she supposed, but she was ashamed of her tears. He felt terrible for her. She'd been nothing but kind to him and he found he wished to help her.
But all the same, he let her pull away and moved back, he'd found sometimes women didn't like men to see them cry. Cersei didn't even like him to see it and he knew her better than he knew himself sometimes, when she was upset or frightened or lonely he could feel it.
But he couldn't tell so easily with Trish and so he let her find her own way to be strong. "It will stay that way if you wish it to. The past will remain the past. I assure you of that." he told her, looking up at her head where it was going almost red from where she'd hit it. She would probably need to sit for a while, and he would wait and keep an eye on her for as long as it was needed.
She still didn't look well and he had to admit to worry, but he'd watch her as she busied herself, and be there if she needed it. "Tea would be lovely"
