He gave a little nod and sat down opposite her as she reset the board. It had been ages since he'd played chess, but it was a familiar game to him. Many times he'd sat and played against himself just to test his strategic powers. Though there'd also been times when he got too short-tempered and overturned the chess board, but it did get frustrating constantly playing yourself. It was far better to have an opponent to play. The Master could read the lines of play, figure a person out by how they moved their chess pieces. It was easy to tell their personality from their style of play. Aggressive people usually went for a quick kill while the laid back ones took their time to analyze and lure people into a trap.
Once the board was reset, he looked up at her. "Ladies have the first move," he said. After all, he was a gentleman, or at least giving himself off as one. While he wasn't normally one for small talk, he would be willing to make it over this game. After all, there was something about this woman that intrigued him. Most human beings were straight-forward to him, but this woman seemed to be more than meets the eye. He wasn't sure why he thought that, but he was going to find out. "I'm Harold," he introduced, figuring he should have manners as well.
