Getting his revenge on Lucifer for killing Romana was coming slower than he had originally hoped. Why was it that his plans always seemed to hit snags? This time he couldn't even blame the Doctor for interfering. And Romana was back, allbeit an earlier regeneration than the one that had been there before. The fact Romana was back sort of threw a wrench into his whole reasoning for trying to get back at Lucifer. But this was the Master, he'd follow through with his plan of destruction anyways. He'd just need to not tell people about his reasoning. And hopefully the Doctor would keep his nose out of it. Though he doubted that. the Doctor was always poking his nose into things, thwarting his plans whenever possible. Just once he wanted to come out with a win over the Doctor. Was that too hard to ask for?
In the meantime, he'd been lurking about Lawrence. He'd watched what Cade had done and applauded the effort. Now there was some crazy witch threatening to turn people into scarecrows and set them on fire. That was unique, so he'd be keeping an eye on that. But he also keeping an eye out for things that could further his own plans. Such as finding some place suitable for his base of operations. Then there was the fact he needed to get his hands on a Nestene power source, and the only way for that to happen was if the seals coughed one up. How lucky could he get in the seals actually cooperating with him? Time would tell.
Today he was wandering through a park, watching the people come and go. Humans were scum to him, an inferior race that deserved to be wiped out. But they did have their moments where they were entertaining and where he didn't want to kill them. It didn't take long for his eye to be caught by a woman playing a solitary game of chess. He stopped and stood at a distance, watching her for a few minutes. He was more interested in the fact she was alone playing chess than anything else. And since he was bored, he wandered over to her, turning on his charm. If the Doctor or Romana had been there, they would have surely warned the woman away from him right then and there. But they weren't, so this woman was fair game.
"Pardon my intrusion, but I couldn't help but notice your solitary game of chess. Would you mind if I joined you?" He gave her a gentle, debonair smile. The thing about the Master is he could be incredibly charming when he wanted to be. He was dressed in a black suit, giving off the appearance of a business man. He was also thankful for the fact he wasn't in his constant state of death anymore, his appearance was well-kept and groomed. So to any normal person, he was an upstanding citizen.
