Damien probably would not admit it readily to anyone, but he was almost nervous. He planned to ask his girlfriend the question. Yes, that one. The big one. The only one. One in which her last name could possibly change from Halliwell to Thorn. Maybe. She might keep hers, though he would feel sort of happy to have her take his name as her own. And he did technically know what her answer to him would be since she'd told him during the truth incident. However, they were both going into this now innocently, pretending that did not happen even though they subconsciously knew that it did. Besides, this should be special and romantic. He would get down on one knee too. Which was a rare thing given his past, he knelt to no one, but this was Prue Halliwell. His girlfriend, the woman he loved beyond all others, whom he could not imagine having a life with anyone but her. He knew how crazy this world could be. Something could very well happen the next day, but he couldn't in worry or fear of it. It was like she had said, they deserve a chance at happiness. Even if they were caught in a war. At least they'd be together. And the more he thought about it, the more he just couldn't come up with a single reason why they shouldn't do it. Though.. the date and place was another matter. The idea of having it in a church.. Hell, even the idea of him being in a church, still kind of gave him the willies. Maybe it can be an outdoor event. Ah well, he'd deal with that when the time came, if it came. First he had to pop the question that this was all riding on.
He had went out a few days ago for a wedding engagement ring. It was a bit pricey, no more than a couple thousand dollars. But money was not an issue for him . He would give her the moon if possible. Except that wouldn't be so great for the rest of the world, but it was the thought that counted, the thought that he was willing to do anything for her happiness. This ring in particular was a large shiny diamond with an opal border around it, set into a golden band. He also had another present for her, something sentimental, a golden bracelet with the ancient triquetra symbols engraved on it. He had learned that it was an insignia of her family's power and magic where they came from. He had also managed to cook a good dinner for the both of them. There was red wine, basted chicken, corn, potatoes and gravy, as well as.. that special gourmet spaghetti that Piper had made for them the first time they were here. He thought that having that again would make this all the more memorable. He had also made sure the place was clean and had dressed especially nice for the occasion. Pressed blue slacks, clean white button shirt and black suit jacket. Of course he would put up the jacket, but he liked looking nice for Prue whenever she came to see him. He had checked the table one more time, made sure the ring and its box were well hidden until the right time, and also yet again looked at the clock. Alright, then. Almost one hour past. It would be perhaps another five or ten minutes before his girlfriend would be at that door. He again took a deep breath as he was prepared for her arrival.
