Who: Tish narrative What: Studying bartending and getting a headache Where: Tish’s apartment When: Evening time
Having pooled some of the money she had left, Tish had invested in a book titled ‘The Bartender’s Bible’. The theory was that if she learned enough about making drinks and tending bar she could ask Jo if her roadhouse was still hiring and be prepared for the job. She hadn’t studied so hard since she’d been in school and, in comparison, she was putting a considerably larger effort into studying bartending than she had school.
At least she didn’t have to pay rent. That was one great big worry off of her shoulders. Still, Tish had always liked being self-sufficient. She preferred buying her own food to eating from the complex kitchen and she liked to have a little bit of cash on hand just in case something unexpected happened.
She sat in her apartment, eyeing flashcards she’d made like she had done when she was learning Spanish in high school. Every now and then she put her fingers to her temples to massage away the headache that seemed to come with memorization exercises. This was a great effort, but Tish reasoned that it would be worth it. She actually missed working.
With the dull pain in her head getting more and more bothersome, Tish got to her feet and headed to her bathroom in search of Advil or something comparable to take care of things. She opened the cabinet only to find it empty, letting out a small groan. This was why having cash on hand was always so handy.
