Fortunately for Casey, Rose was a very 'ask questions first, attack later' sort. Despite a year with her father's Torchwood, the Doctor had instilled that in her and she'd stuck with it. Most of the time. Besides, if a demon attacked, the last thing that was going to save her life was hitting them. Considering that was the first worry on her mind lately, Casey was pretty safe.
"You, sir, have never seen me wield a gun," she reminded him, though she was smiling. It wasn't something she liked to do, and she didn't do it often. But in her line of work, sometimes it was a necessity. "But I tend to only attack people who attack me first. And last I checked, you rescued me, instead."
She listened carefully as he talked about the complex, and she offered up a smile. No, she'd never lived outdoors as he had, but she did understand how the walls could close in on you easily enough. Wanderlust was gripping her, and hard. "At least it's cool inside and there's a roof during the bad weather. And it's guarded against most of the crazy that goes on around here. Sometimes I feel trapped but at least until I know more about how to deal with all of this, I've got to stay put." Sometimes even the dreamer could be practical.
Ninja Turtles. She was actually talking to a guy who knew the Ninja Turtles. Not someone who just 'knew' them like she 'knew' them, as the toys and cartoon show and that really weird movie. Actually knew them. "Yeah... It's strange, finding out some things you believe are just fantasy or fiction are real, but... I've known of your friends since I was a kid." Not him, though. They must have rebooted the series after she'd left. Or else he was from some medium she didn't know, like comic books. Nope. Never going to stop being weird. "I know what you mean, though. My friend would absolutely kill to get his hands on all of this."
