Rose smiled sympathetically as he agreed with her. In comparison to some of the kids around the complex, he was considerably older. She knew there were teenagers dragged to this place, and even little Parker, who fortunately at least had his dad. He also looked the sort who didn't act his age. Hardened around the edges, that sort. That didn't make it any easier. She was older than he was, had seen this sort of problem before, and still hated it.
For his comment about the town, he earned a giggle. "You're right. I've been dubbed jeopardy friendly before, actually, wandering off in places I'm almost guaranteed to get attacked or mutilated or burnt up by the sun or whatever." True story, actually, but she shrugged it off as if it were simply an exaggeration. Though she was learning in this place that her story was nothing in comparison to others. Her closest friend was an angel, after all. "I wish I could say no, but I'm not too proud to accept help."
She nodded down the alley she'd just come from, inviting him to come along if he wanted. Though she was favoring her ankle, she could at least put weight on it and was only slightly slowed down. "I've been here...what, about a month now? Maybe a little more than. It feels like forever in some ways and just yesterday in others." Like she said. Time was weird. "How much have they told you about this place?"
