He studied her carefully. He might not have had tact or poise, but what he lacked in those he made up for in will and courage. He had hardly let on that he was afraid, but in reality he felt it. Deep deep down he felt a pang of fear when she mentioned that she too was from another time. It meant that this was real. Right about now he could use some of their encouragement. The only thing that kept him going thus far was the idea that one of them could possibly come along. Or all of them. Dis town ain't exactly a vacationer paradise if ya know what I mean." It was dangerous, there were all kinds of things he'd heard about lurking around. Demons, ghosts, creeps. Things that went bump in the night that should have been just fairy tales were real.
Then again, who was he to judge what was a fairy tale and what was real. His best friend was a Mutant Turtle. "How long you been here?" He had to ask. It seemed like there was a wide scale. Some were there for months, others for years, some for only weeks. He was trying to get a grasp on things and figure out just how long he was going to have to deal with being alone. It wasn't something that Casey was good at.
