Rose was getting restless. And it really wasn't a good look on her.
For the last several years her life had been a constant go, go, go. From the moment the Doctor had taken her hand and told her to run, she had. Even when she'd been yanked into an entirely new world, she'd had a project that she focused on and kept working towards. But all of that was done. And now she was, apparently, at the end of the world, and instead of helpless, she just felt...useless.
Oh, she knew what Anna had said. Just living a life that was normal and real could make all the difference in the world. But it wasn't enough. Not for her. For Lucifer, maybe, but she was pretty sure if she went mad with boredom, he won.
So she'd taken to exploring the town. Fine, fine, not town. City. She could call it one, honest. It was just a small city, is all. At least, it felt small, until she started wandering. And wandering meant ending up far from the complex. Which might not have been her smartest move. Demons and all. But local places got really old, really fast, and if she went looking for somewhere new for breakfast, then so be it. She could handle herself. Mostly.
Though she did wonder if dead there meant dead back home, too. Like the Narnia kids had wondered. Well, that was a cheerful thought.
Far from the complex, when walking, also meant getting tired. And antsy. And a little on edge. A noise behind her caused her to jump. Which caused her to step off the curb. By surprise. Her ankle twisted under her and all Rose could think to say was, "Dammit!" Demons hurt later. That damn ankle was going to hurt now.
