Brittany followed Tina for a long time without asking questions, though she was curious about everything in this weird place. There was a building that reminded her of her grandmother’s apartment building in Cleveland and for a second she wondered if her grandma was in Kansas, too. Where was Kansas, anyway? Then there was mention of an amulet.
“Amulet? Like a necklace?” Her eyes lit up a bit, remembering the word from a Pretty Pretty Princess cartoon she’d watched the other day with Lord Tubbington. This place wasn’t too bad if they gave you an apartment and a necklace for free. She hoped it was a pink amulet.
As she sat down, Brittany tried to brush some of the gravel off of her dress. Sewers were unexpectedly messy.
“Sure.” She answered in response to Tina’s inquiry, not really specifying what in particular she would have liked to drink.
