Oh, seemed like he'd made her mad. Interesting reaction. Did she really hate him that much? Who was she to take the high moral ground here when he was just trying to help her. And out of the goodness of his heart. He was a good person. Helping her when he didn't need to. And sure, other people were more than capable of helping her out but he didn't understand why they would. They knew him. Not her. They knew the horrible person she was. It wasn't irrational or cruel to warn them about her. So really she just had to trust him. Sucked to be her.
"Oh yeah, you're right. You can read. You can ask other people for help. But y'know these people like me. I've been here a hell of a lot longer than you and they know the story. Walking out on the eve of the match for my opponent. And you're you, you'll alienate most of them before you've been here a month. So you might as well just let me help you. Is it really so traumatic for you?" He was happy being smug about the whole situation figuring he deserved to be. Florence for once knew less than he did. She couldn't be there with a way to tell him he was wrong or to do this or that. This time, he had the upper hand and he was planning to relish every single second of it.
But when the accent came out and she told him she hadn't asked for this he couldn't keep back the laughter, hadn't asked for it? She'd asked for it alright, maybe not being here. But him hating her. What did she expect? She'd rejected him twice now. "So what? You expect me to just let you forget what you did to me. To treat you like anything more than the woman who walked away from me twice now? I'm not trying to be your savior woman I'm trying to keep you alive/" He busied himself for a moment looking in the pocket of his jacket. He'd made sure before he met Florence that he had a spare he could give her. It wasn't much. Just a simple amulet. It looked all kinds of satantic but he knew it kept the demons out. "Here" he said simply handing the thing over, he'd bought her necklaces before but they were usually prettier. "This'll stop the demons possessing you. Wear it under your clothes and you'll be safe. Its a start."
He moved away from the wall suddenly more awkward than he expected to be having given her what she could call a gift.
"So...do you actually want to go get coffee or something?" he said. "I mean for the record, that? Me giving you that? It means nothing at all. Its to keep you alive. Don't go reading into it. I'm not trying to win you back. Made that mistake once not gonna make it again."
