Who:Anakin and Jake What:Taking a breather When: Today! Afternoon time. Where: the park warnings: I don't see any.
Since the very awkward last attempt at a family dinner, Anakin had done a lot of reevaluating. He realized he was being ridiculous. He couldn't expect Jacen and Tahiri not to speak or look at eachother, he couldn't force them not to be involved in each others lives. Jacen was his brother, chances were he was going to have to be around him with Tahiri and he didn't want to make her more miserable then he had been. So he was taking some time to himself since being freed from his tether partner. Sure hanging out with Tahiri and hers had been pleasant enough but he still felt bad. He knew something needed to change, so he was taking down time. Being away as long as Tahiri would let him.
The young Jedi took a walk through the city, bought himself a soda and generally just people watched. It basically kept him sane. The whole goal was to get away from his thoughts and problems. The people in Lawrence were interesting enough to draw Anakin's attention and direct it away from his worries. Someone new was always arriving. Always learning about the apocalypse, but the civilians still managed to seem so care free it was intriguing. They had to rebuild shop time and time again but it didn't wear down on their spirits. They just kept living.
Anakin knew he needed to do the same, he couldn't just keep thinking about the Myrkr Mission and doing shoulda coulda wouldas. It didn't help anyone, it only hurt everyone. It was the past. He had another chance at life and he needed to make the most of it. So he continued walking, coming up on a park that wasn't too far from the complex, maybe four blocks tops. People were out and being active. Whether it was having a picnic or throwing a frisbee there was plenty to look at.
There were dogs running about, and it made his lip twitch to a smirk just to see how normal they were compare to Allanas, or some of the pets Jacen used to bring home. Out of nowhere, a frisbee flew his way and he barely managed to catch it in time. Looking down at the disk, then around for where it came from he noticed a couple flagging him down with their arms to throw it back. He tossed it back in their direction and kept on walking. The park was a decent size. Had all kinds of accommodations. Picnic tables, barbecues, basketball courts, tennis, sand boxes, the works. What Anakin was mostly interested in was the basketball. He'd been learning to watch it recently on t.v. with the NBA finals going on, and enjoyed the strategy portion. The park version was much simpler, more rough around the edges, but still Anakin watched from a short distance away with interest.
