Hearing the question, Galinda looked up from her tending to Fiyero and blinked, canting her head to the side. There was a part of her that was screaming that she needed to step back, really look at what was going on. To put the pieces together and realize that this wasn't her Fiyero. The Fiyero she loved and had done everything for. It was funny, really. She could get anyone to love her just by batting her eyes and smiling. But the one she wanted was the one who just used her in the end and she didn't even see it.
"Why wouldn't I be nice to you?" She probably didn't want to know the answer, and so in true Galinda fashion, she continued speaking and not be there for you, "I mean, you're hurt in a strange place, it would just be wrong to be mad at your for some small reason." As she spoke, Galinda continued to tend to the wounds, nodding in approval that they were slowly healing. Apparently the potions she and Elphie had put together really did work.
Yes, deep down, beneath all of the shallow antics and hyperactivity was a woman who cared. Someone who was observant, even if she herself didn't realize it because it hurt too much to do so. It was why she wasn't paying attention to the tell tale signs that she was going to end up with a broken heart again. Because she didn't want to see the signs. She wanted to believe that there was a chance for her and Fiyero. He might not be as perfect as she had thought, but she still loved him.
"You probably have questions on where you are, though. So, we're in a place called Lawrence, Kansas. We were brought here by this thing called a Seal and it brings people from a bunch of different places and worlds here. We're in a war against someone named Lucifer.... He's really dangerous. Weird things happen all the time because of it, so it's not really safe, but we get by."
