Another blow landed, this one a bit more solidly than the first. Leela was gaining ground. At least until Leia drew her gun and fired. That was one thing Leela neglected to remember, there were guns in this world and they tended to hurt faster than a knife did. Even though it happened in the fraction of a second, things seemed to be in slow motion as Leia fired her gun, the bullet flying through the air, then lodging itself in her shoulder.
Crying out in pain, Leela stumbled back, promptly dropping her knife and gripping her shoulder. She sunk to a knee, taking the gun shot like any tough warrior would, though she was in shock. The full force of the pain hadn't quite yet hit her. It had been a while since she was last wounded. She shook her head and pulled her hand away from her shoulder only to see it covered in her own blood. Well, that was just perfect. She reached out to grab her knife, clenching her teeth tightly as the pain started to register in her brain as the initial shock faded. She had to be ready in case Leia tried to attack her while she was weakened, but she didn't make a move to attack again.
