First blood went to Leela, though that wasn't enough for her. No, she was aiming for death. It was the way of her tribe, the way she'd been raised. If someone close to you was killed, you avenged their death. Leela was wanting Leia to defend herself, put up more of a fight, but if she wouldn't, then she would go for the kill. She did hope Leia was more of an honorable warrior and would put up a good fight, but time would tell if that was actually true or not.
And then the diplomacy came back. Leela narrowed her eyes a bit. "You think I blame myself? And this is the way of my people! We avenge the fallen!" Of course, no one outside of her tribe seemed to understand that. They seemed to just be more concerned with doing what was socially acceptable. Leela, on the other hand, didn't care for what was socially acceptable. Instead, she held to the ways of her people, even though she technically had been exiled from them for blaspheming their god, but the lessons she'd learned as a child stuck with her even now, nearly fifty years later.
Not being one for many words, especially in the middle of a fight, Leela gathered herself and charged Leia again. If Leia wished to fight with words, then all she would feel was the sting of Leela's blade.
