Leia was not happy about this. The closer this woman came to her, the more her senses screamed at her to run away. But Leia didn't run. She tried to rationalize things. Well, so long as she wasn't in the middle of a war. That was when rationalizing with people didn't work. But Leia had spent years diffusing situations, even if she did cause some of them. So while she knew that Leela was under Alema's control, she hoped that she could reason with the hunter.
Stepping forward, Leia held her hands up in a sign of peace. She wanted to get out of this situation without anyone getting hurt. That was the ideal situation. But Leia wasn't going to let herself die, either. And given she saw a glint off of Leela's knife? She knew that it would be tricky. But hopefully Leela wasn't beyond reason.
"Leela... killing me won't avenge Romana. She wouldn't want you to do this..." True, Leia didn't know the deceased, but she couldn't imagine anyone wanting someone to kill in their name. Right now though? It was trying to reason with her. "Let's just talk this out..."
