Who: Juliet and Sam
What: Jules gets stuck outside the police station
When: Today!
Where:Said police station.
Warnings: Bug gore and bug guts and possible bug juice!
When the bugs came, Juliet had been at the Police Station. She'd stayed for a few days, but it was getting old very fast. She needed things from her apartment, she wanted her own bed again. Plus the complex had to be safer. Several bugs had already gotten through. They tore up the place pretty fast. Computers and communications were down. Jules was actually semi grateful it was fast, it meant she didn't have time to try to explain what was going on. If they asked she would have told, and it would have been bad for everyone. Her partner had taught her honesty was important. It was right up there with the oath they took as police officers to uphold truth and justice. She'd always considered herself a good Detective, but this was way out of her league. Many of the officer's had taken the every man for themselves stance, but she hadn't yet. There were a few officers in the building still stuck and she couldn't leave them on their own to handle the invasion. Or rather infestation as they were dealing with giant bugs and all.
They didn't know the first thing about dealing with supernatural occurrences. Not that she could call herself experienced, but she had a leg up knowing about the apocalypse and all. The station was a mess. There were broken desks and papers everywhere. Files torn to shreds containing important criminal profiles. They were going to have a hell of a time fixing up if this thing ever ended. She was sure it was tied to the apocalypse somehow, and every time there was a strange occurrence the people at the complex managed to get through it. Somehow this would end, it had too. There were innocent people involved. They were shooting at them, but it was a slow process. There had to be a better way. A faster way out.
She was underneath a desk that was on the verge of breaking in two when she saw a path toward the evidence room. The bug that had gotten in was being shot at by a few who remained. Crawling out from underneath said desk, she made a bee line toward the evidence room. Slipping on a pair of white gloves from the desk, she unlocked the gate barring intruders and slipped inside to dig for something more useful. The bugs were fast and strong, it would take an expert shot to hit them at a weak point and that could take forever with the way these cops were shooting.
"Come on, come on flame thrower. " There had to be a pyro, every precinct she'd ever been in had arrested at least one firestarter. She dug through evidence boxes and finally turned up something useful. A large sword would provide a necessary dissertation. It wasn't what she hoped for, but it would work for now. She pulled it out of it's long box and quietly slinked along the hallway that lead back toward the bug. Not wanting it to hear her coming, she kept a light foot until she got to a clear vantage point. There was an opening, and she needed to get the others out. She ran forward while it was being shot at by an officer and forcefully shoved the sharp end of the sword into the bugs chest. The creature hissed and wobbled and began to back down with the sword still stuck inside it. "Get out now!" Jules called to the remaining officers, and they listened. While it was still regaining it's footing they ran for the exit. Juliet made sure that all of them were out before looking back at the bug that had collapsed. Green blood spilled from the wound, and she cringed. She had to get the sword back, if there was one there were probably others.
She hesitantly reached for the sword and pulled it out of the body, covered in green goop. it was too focused on twitching to get up and try to attack again. The police station was abandoned, and Juliet finally got outside. Just like she'd imagined, there were more. They were coming up on her quickly. She started running toward the complex but they were too fast. She was cornered infront of the police station by three bugs of different sizes and with only a sword. The green goop from the other bug on the sword dripped down to touch her hands. "So gross." She said out loud as she looked at each of them, pointing the sword in their direction. " Stay back."
