There was a tiny part of Jaina that felt bad almost as soon as the rock had pinged off the back of the angel’s head. She wasn’t really worried she’d hurt him - he was, after all, an Archangel, and she’d only flung a very small rock at him... He could take it. It was more of a sentiment thing, an annoying distaste for seeing anything hurt him (even in theory, since she wasn’t sure if he even felt pain from something so small), and it was stupid and something she was quick to dismiss and put out of her mind, because he was a jerk, and it was just one little stone...
Besides, it had been more of a diversion than anything, really, to get Gabriel’s attention away from Sam before the angel dropped him down a volcano - or something even more extreme. She didn’t really know Sam that well, but she’d seen him around - on the internet, mostly - and he’d always seemed like a nice, helpful kind of person - albeit a little on the strange side, but that seemed to be a Winchester thing, rather than Sam’s fault personally. The point was, she didn’t think he deserved to be launched into space, or anything else that was equally dangerous, and he was helpful to this whole displaced crowd, so she was doing Lawrence, at least, a favor by keeping Gabriel distracted.
>"Him I get... But what's your problem?"
Her smirk bled into a scowl. What was her problem? Did he seriously need to ask that question? Was he not aware of the fact that he’d hurt her? Had he forgotten the entire incident, or was he just being dense about it? She wasn’t even sure which was more likely. Without taking her eyes off of him, she used the Force to pick up several over small stones, most more like pebbles than anything, one by one until there was quite a collection of them just hovering steadily in the air around her.
It took a surprising amount of focus to hold them steady, to make sure they didn’t wobble or shake, with her hurt and anger and that stupid affection for him making everything inside twist uncomfortably, making her have a hard time concentrating. She didn’t like the fact that he was so good at making her feel like that, all tangled up and confused. She was pretty sure he did it on purpose, too, another stupid little game, and she couldn’t figure out how to keep herself from playing along.
“I can’t believe you even have to ask me that question.”
