WHO: Sherry & Clark WHAT: Hunting down a thief. WHEN: Early evening. WHERE: Lawrence. RATING: PG-13 for possible violence.
It was important that Clark met up with Sherry to find the person responsible for Tish's purse being stolen. Not only did he feel that it was his responsibility to bring the person who attacked her to justice, but he also felt that it was necessary to be with Sherry in case she actually did find the man. Clark knew that some of the people in Lawrence were very powerful on their on in some ways (there were witches; something that he, personally, was still getting used to acknowledging the existence of), but he never would have been able to forgive himself if Sherry went running into the fire without someone watching her back. What if something happened to her? What if she got killed because he had ignored Tish's post? That sort of thing didn't fly with him, so he was quick to jump up and declare that he was going with Sherry. Fortunately, she agreed to have him come along, otherwise this encounter probably would have gone a lot more unpleasantly than Clark wanted for it to be. They were already going to have to confront a criminal - if they could find him - the last thing that they needed was to be at odds with each other. If they were going to chase this guy down together, they needed to get along. They had to be a team; that was the only way that this was going to work.
Hands shoved deep into the pockets of his hoodie, Clark waited patiently outside of the apartment complex for Sherry to meet with him. He had looked into the robbery and discovered that there were a few more similar cases in the same area that Tish had been attacked, so he figured that starting there would be as good a place as any. As to whether they were going to head out there and ask around or keep their heads down in case the thief decided to hit the area was another matter entirely. If they asked around, they might be able to get more detail on the guy, but if they raised too many questions and brought too much attention their way, that might well push the thief to avoid the area entirely and then they'd never catch him. Clark decided to ask Sherry about it when she showed, so he leaned back against a nearby railing and silently waited.
