Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Melinda Halliwell and Adam Milligan.
WHEN: Backdated to 3/23.
WHERE: Multiple places!
WHAT: Their first date; Adam is taking Melinda to dinner.
STATUS: Incomplete
WARNINGS: Shouldn't be any? Maybe PG-13 rating for words.

Melinda and Adam hadn't really started out with any intention to see one another. In fact, the opposite could have been true. His family thought it was really bizarre that she looked like Ruby. It could have easily been argued that Mel's face was the original one, but Ruby had been here first. Melinda digressed. She had dealt with the massive amount of people that had called her things like 'Ruby-twin' or 'Ruby-faced'. Sure, it was a little annoying, but she understood. People knew Ruby and the fact that they looked alike meant that they were going to be compared or whatever. Melinda could deal with that even if it was a little annoying. She just kept telling herself there were differences, and there were differences between them. Obviously Adam saw the differences because he was attracted to her (and as far as Mel could tell--not Ruby).

The night that they had both ended up drunk they had ended up being a little drunk and stupid. When Mel got up and left his place the next morning she had scrambled out so quickly (and awkwardly) that she'd forgotten her shoe. Rather than talk about it, the two of them had just not talked about it. Of course it had to happen again. The second time they weren't drunk, though. They were only a bit tipsy. And, well, the second time had just been making out, to be fair. It still happened. It still let Mel know that they needed to talk. She was still embarrassed about how awkward she'd been, but talking had gotten results. They were seeing one another now, afterall. Adam was going to take Mel out to dinner for a first date. Damn first dates kind of sucked, though. They always ended up awkward. Maybe this one would go differently.

Mel couldn't help but be more than a little bit amused by the fact that she hadn't even been here in Lawrence that long and she was already going on a date. Her brothers would have made some comments about this fact if they were around. She was glad they weren't here. It was weird enough having her parents be from such strange times. Neither of them were the people she remembered, they were different. They were still Mom and Dad, though. Lawrence was pretty bad at times, but there seemed to be some consolations for being stuck in the middle of this war. Having the two familiar faces definitely helped her. Hitting it off with Adam had helped too, actually. She definitely saw that they could be friends. The fact that they were attracted to one another was just stemming from the fact that they had become fast friends. They clicked for some reason. Even if Sam had passionately said no things had happened instead. His family didn't matter as much as what he wanted as far as Mel was concerned. Then again Melinda had been the one that had dated a damn demon. This was different, though. Sure, Adam wasn't perfect, but...who the hell was?

Now, the young witch wasn't the kind that took hours to get dressed and ready. So, rather than agonizing over everything, she simply put on a pair of nice jeans and a cute black top. After that it was a pair of boots, a necklace, and then make up and hair were the rest. Mel pulled her hair back (leaving a bit of a bang going on) some and even made her face up a bit. It didn't take her that long at all. She tucked her wallet, cell, and keys into her pockets and then it was just chilling until Adam came by and let her know that he was ready to go for dinner. Maybe she was getting a little nervous...but not too much, it was all good...

Yeah right.
