Destiny was coming, Mag knew her time was coming, but she was determined to meet it on her own terms. The Repo Man wouldn't have her if she could help it. She knew he still might kill her because it was what Rotti wanted, but at least she'd give him a choice. She was going to take her own eyes. She'd seen more than enough of the world, and she'd much rather be blind than bear witness to the ugliness around her. It would also be a return to how shed been before Rotti had darkened her life, before she'd signed the contract in blood. If she'd known what it would have come to, she would never have signed the thing.
That had been her greatest mistake, signing the contract and buying what Rotti had said. But Mag was finally going to make it right. She'd made peace with the past, warned Shilo against making the same mistake she had. She had faith the girl would do what she had not been able to. So she prepared herself for her final performance, taking her time. She glanced around her dressing room, her gaze falling on the picture of Marni she had sitting on her vanity. A faint smile curved the corners of her mouth. Perhaps soon she would see her friend once more. Regardless of what was to come, she was ready. Mag stood to head to the stage as she was given her stage call. But she soon found herself no longer indoors, but outdoors. Blinking, Mag was deeply confused. She was standing on a sidewalk, and she looked around.
"What?" She wondered aloud, a look of deep confusion coming over her face. A car drove by, and she was startled. Even the buildings were strange. She hadn't seen anything quite like these since the epidemic of organ failure had started. The world she'd come from had been one built, literally, on top of the dead. But this? There were makes of cars she hadn't seen since she was a child. Well, she'd seen some as an adult, but none had looked as though they were new, like they did now. She looked around, wondering where she should go to get some clarity on this matter. Though she wasn't exactly thinking anyone would be able to give her some clarity.
