She was busying herself by baking bread - mostly because she needed something to focus on aside from how close things the previous had come to going very badly. Piper was more than a little disappointed, because honestly, she wouldn't have expected a Halliwell to act that way. As much as even she tried to be normal, live a normal life, she knew that they weren't normal. They did have certain responsibilities, and Melinda's actions had Piper doubting if she had ever been a huge influence in her life. They had barely had time to talk in general since her daughter had arrived, and she was starting to wonder if she'd just been a crap mother. Dying too soon for Christopher (in that darker future), letting Wyatt go evil...and now, a daughter who barely reminded her of herself. Some days, Piper just really wished that Phoebe had never used that spell in the Book of Shadows.
Pulling out a loaf of cinnamon raisin, she set it on the stove, set the potholders aside, and turned off the oven with a sigh. A glance was shot towards the clock on the wall, and she reluctantly left the kitchen and walked out into the living room. "Leo? It's almost time!" She called out to the empty room, then waited for him to show as she sank down onto the couch, really hoping that she didn't mess things up with her daughter, which she truly thought she was about to do. But she was her daughter. It would be wrong to just ignore what Melinda was doing, wouldn't it? That had to be worse, because it would be like saying she didn't care. And she did, very much.
