It was troubling to Abby to see someone upset, and she rather liked being able to help people feel better. If any of her friends were down or upset, she was the first to the be right there for them to try and cheer them up with a hug or with Bert. Oh if only she had Bert with her! The farting hippo would make for a smile, or at least he usually did.
Abby listened as the girl explained herself. The fact about having been at home, then she was here made Abby think she'd shown up here much like she herself had. "I'm sorry to hear that. Do you want a hug? I'm good at giving hugs. And I can help you, I'm good at helping, too." She smiled gently and reassuringly. "Hi, I'm Abby. Abby Scuito. It's nice to meet you. I'm actually still sort of new around here myself, but I do kind of know my way around enough to help." If there was anything Abby excelled at better than forensic work, it was rambling. Though the rambling was undoubtedly helped by the fact she drank caffeine like she breathed air, but that was something she didn't really care about.
