Who: Anakin and Open to Han or Leia, or BOTH!--Or narrative. What: just quiet time. Tinkering with laser puzzles. When: Tonight. Lateish Where: Their new place, on the roof.
Ever since he became a pilot Anakin Solo liked heights. He loved how freeing it was flying, and how being up high caused all of his worldly problems to seemingly disappear. Unfortunately on Earth he had no X Wing or shuttle, so he worked with what he did have. He had a new apartment on the top floor of a spacious building with his mother and father. And a rooftop access bedroom. His own room. It was nice. The new house was usually quiet, but that night it was filled with anticipation and anxiety. Ever since he'd told Leia he was going to help Sam.
He knew she would worry, considering his last scrape hadn't gone so well. And then there was the fact that she was his mother. It was pretty much her job to worry, and sometimes she did it to well. Anakin knew what he was doing was risky, but he was trained and confident. He'd gotten Jacen to agree on the condition that his presence be there to only defend. He wasn't so sure Leia would ever be pleased with his decision. It was a little nerve wracking.
To even have a chance at sensing Dean in the Force he knew he had to clear his mind. So there he sat on top of the roof that over looked the city in silence. Meditating. His bedroom window was left open, Anakin always left it open. He was rarely actually in the room itself, but having the option cut down a lot of his stress. Not being in the complex helped too. That place was too overwhelming for Anakin at times. Even being a knight with that many people unable to control their thoughts and abilities would have been too much for most Jedi.
Anakin finally opened his eyes and looked up at the vast deep blue almost black sky that was littered with stars. The meditation had helped to calm his nerves. In his lap there was Leia's laser puzzle he'd asked to use again. More and more lately he was asking for it. Strategy was his strength, and no matter how many times the puzzle reset itself, Anakin solved it again and again. That night was no different. The puzzle kept his emotions in check, and his senses open to possibility.
