Sherry Birkin had been about to leave a bar when Leon had texted her. She wasn't that drunk, at least not that it would be a problem by the time she got there. Leon had wanted something to drink so the stop at the store had been quick, she picked out a few juices and as a second thought she got some pasta and sauce.

When she got to the complex the blond headed up to Leon's texting him to let him know she was there. The phone slipped back into her pocket. Just hope he doesn't have a problem with me bringing something light to eat too. Should have really had something before the few drinks...

"Leon? You here?" She knocked on the door. "It's me."

Sherry entered and took a look at him. "Wasn't sure if you'd be hungry, hope you don't mind that it's alfredo sauce..." She set the two paper bags she had brought on the table.

She didn't ask, she could tell something was off, probably the same thing that made her glad she didn't need as much sleep as uninfected people. Reaching into the bag she pulled out a can of coffee setting it on the table before going for a coke handing it to him. "Here, I'll cook, and you tell me why you look like the world's on your shoulders. Or this one of those things you don't want to talk about because you see me as the scared thirteen year old?" She emptied the first bag, 2 six packs of soda, and two different packs of juice boxes, one mixed berry, the other apple.

"Because way you're holding yourself... you're getting less sleep than I am are you?"

"No, I'm not hungry. Use whatever you need to." Truth be told, Leon really wasn't. He'd been making sure to eat though, even if he really hadn't had an appetite lately.

He took the soda from her with a nod of thanks. "The world isn't on my shoulders and I know you're not a kid." But truthfully, he thought some part of their world was there perched on his shoulder. Not so much as that it was weighing Leon down, but more that it was just there - following him around and reminding him of things.

Nodding, he opened the soda and took a swig. "Probably. Depends on how much sleep you're getting," he attempted to joke. His look sombered though. "Honestly, I'm at a new low in numbers."

"Would you humor me a little then?" She set the stuff aside sitting looking at him.

"You sure about that? Cause with you slumped in that chair, it's either that or I should have brought a bottle of something stronger. Don't think you'd really want to see me drunk though." There was a soft worried smile as she put the noodles on to boil, heating the sauce wouldn't take too long.

"Only need about four hours every two days... I try to sleep longer and well, it never really works." She cracked open a soda and slipped into the chair across from him. "Want to talk about it?"

The used-to-be agent started getting the feeling he wasn’t going to win this bout. And it wasn’t like there was exactly anything to be done, nor would he do anything so he might as well just explain. “No, definitely not something stronger. I think I’ve had enough of that for a while.” If she suggested he was guzzling down drinks like a fish, it would earn her a glare.

“I don’t know how you deal with…everything that happened when you were a kid, but they told me to either talk to a psych or try and block it out. You’ll never guess which one I chose.” Leon raised a brow thoughtfully at her. “It’s easy, but it all comes back in dreams. Been that way for years, which is why I don’t sleep right.” He gave a half chuckle, looking down at the soda can for a moment. “That’s why I did missions they gave me back to back besides the fact of trying to lend a hand to the cause.” To stop the companies and Wesker was the silent added thought.

Leon isn’t one for opening up as he did, so Sherry would be right to feel maybe slightly honored. But they had that common thing that they couldn’t exactly talk to others about. He was sure even a government employed psychiatrist might look at him funny over these things.

Small glare at least, she couldn't be too nit picky about it after all she just came from a bar so... "I won't even ask how much."

"I was told to block it out after... Well let's just say that there were a few shrinks that couldn't handle the fact that a kid had even been put through all of that, let alone survived it." She nodded to him, just letting him talk as she sipped her drink.

"I know all about that, missions gave you something else to think about, a reason for your mind to shove it back. For a while at least, then it starts to force it's way through..." She was silent a moment, her eyes showing she was thinking. "You know how you said you were thinking about trying for a P.I. job? Maybe you should." She knew she was changing the subject, hopefully in a positive way. "You're good at helping people..."

"Good plan." His trashcan might speak for his actions from the past three days and nights though. The near-full bottle that was in there was his hint that he was done for a while.

At least she'd given the whole talking to a doctor thing a try. It ever passed his mind as an option after it all happened. The whole confident demeanor he had back then said he could handle it and Leon did for a while. About a year, actually.

He nodded, listening to her. The P.I thing was still sort of up in the air still. “I want to. One of the people here, Jessica I think, mentioned she’s planning on setting up a firm. I told her to let me know what happens, but it might not happen for a little while.” Meaning, he would be still be doing nothing. There were other options he was still considering though.

She heard the water start to boil and moved to put the noodles in while she listened.

"You should give one a try, might help you more than it did me." She searched for a smaller pan for the sauce.

"So what other options do you have until then?" She turned back to look at him. "Because if you can't think of anything I'll drag you out to go do something tomorrow."

His expression turned to disbelief, watching her while she was cooking. "Maybe I would back home, but not here. You really think someone would believe me if I told them?" Yes, he was skeptical about these sorts of things. Any person with enough sanity probably would be, he assumed. "It'd get me a few nights locked up."

Leon took another sip of the soda while he thought. "Well, hanging around the range in town for one. There's always that." It was a place he retreated when he felt the need to, which at first had been regularly. Lately, not as much.

"Beyond that I might just suck it up and go check out the local police. Maybe see if they're hiring." Although if he did that, he'd have to get some actual papers and legal work up to be in the system. The badge and identification he had would barely get him by. "And no comments about rookies," Leon smiled.

She couldn't help but laugh. "Leon, we were dragged from home to a world going through an apocalypse. And if you listen to how Wesker talks, he's always ranting about how our kind... Meaning those infected, will be the rebirth of it with him as God. I'm pretty sure others here would understand exactly where we're coming from, you'd just have to edit it a little, and if they try to lock you up I'll go bust you out. Wouldn't be that hard." The small smirk on her face showed that she might not be kidding about that.

She thought a moment and nodded. "Well it's a start, I spoke to one of the other new people here, he was talking about setting up a bowling league, thought it would be fun, it would be interaction with the others at least. Maybe that's what you need, something to go do everyday again. And there's an awesome paintball arena here, I found it roaming around, maybe we can go do that at least once. Would be fun to see if my aim's as good as yours where you know the ammo can't kill you. Unless you'd rather go play laser tag."

"I could probably hack into the college systems, but police... I don't have the equipment here. Annnd... you don't want to hear about my criminal training do you?" She chewed on her lip a little, focusing on the stove. "So you know, I haven't tried any since I got here."
