WHO: Melinda and Sam
WHAT: Mel's arrival to Lawrence.
WHEN: 2/25 Friday morning!
WHERE: Lawrence....we'll see!
RATING: PG-13? Mebe!
Melinda had had a bit of a hard night. She'd gone out drinking with some friends. It'd been a while since she'd gone out and got black out, dog ass drunk. She'd done it last night, though. It was okay to do it every so often, or at least that was what she told herself about it. She could only imagine what Chris, or even Wyatt, might say to her. 'Melinda, you could have done something stupid,' or ,'Melinda you need to be more careful,' or even still, 'Melinda what if a demon had shown up!' Sure, maybe she was exaggerating a little bit, but still! She definitely would have heard quite a bit from either brother, even her parents. She could only imagine the look of her father as he talked about how worried he was and blah blah blah. It was too early to be thinking about her family right now. She didn't need to be thinking about them, it'd only take the headache she had from her hangover and make it even worse! Her family always seemed to give her headaches. It was probably worse now that she wasn't talking to any of them, though. At least when she talked to them she knew that they were safe, but she wasn't willing to back down on this just yet. She regretted being so stupid, but couldn't admit that she was wrong and stupid just yet.
Groaning, Mel curled up tighter in her bed. She had the day off today and it was pretty tempting to stay in bell all damn day, but it wasn't really an option. She had things to do today; grocery shopping was at the top of the list. She'd promised her friends that she'd make a damn good home cooked meal really soon. She'd get that done definitely, but it'd probably be the only thing. She had a list, but lists generally didn't do her any good. The thought made her give a half smile before she finally started to wake up a bit more. There was a dull sort of pain in her head. That definitely had to do with the hangover. She had an awful taste in her mouth too, along with being dry. The case of cottonmouth was another tell-tale sign of her hangover. She'd need to brush her teeth really good and then down a couple jugs of water. That'd take care of the dry mouth and the headache probably.
With her plan having sort of haphazardly formed in her head, Melinda finally sat up and opened her eyes, lifting her hand to push her hair back, but what she saw was definitely not her bedroom. Where the fuck was she? She couldn't orb, so she knew there was no way in hell that she had brought herself here! She wasn't talking to her brothers at the moment and they would never play this sort of joke, would they? Well, maybe Wyatt might be tempted to, but no way he would have done this, especially not with it this cold. Shivering, Melinda jumped up, the t-shirt and shorts she had worn to bed not quite doing the job with the whole keeping her warm thing just right now. Melinda's brown eyes scanned the area. She was in someone's front yard and it definitely wasn't home. she could see a damn field! "What the hell?" She said to herself, looking around in confusion. Waking up in a strange new place with a freaking hangover was not cool. She was more than a little pissed off at the moment. "You've got to be kidding me." Her mind wasn't as sharp as it could be considering the ache it had going on. Lifting her hands to her face, the brunette rubbed none-too-gently for a few moments before opening her eyes back up. Yup, still a field.
Unluckily for her it was that moment that the owner of the house chose to come out. The sound of his screen door shrieking open and slamming back closed was enough to make the young woman wince in pain. It took her a second before she could look at the guy. He was an older man, carrying a rifle, and he looked pretty angry. That got her attention real quick. "Get off my property!" He yelled and Melinda's eyes went wide as he seemed to be readying to aim that rifle of his. "I'm going! Jesus!" She said as she automatically jumped into doing just that. There was no way she was sticking around to get shot by some senile guy that probably never would have been allowed to pick up a gun in the first place. She didn't stop until she knew that she'd covered a good distance; she didn't walk until she'd gotten about five blocks away. It was then that she finally decided that her whole...not apologizing for being dumb thing could go to hell. "I freaking give up! Wyatt! Chris! D-," She caught herself before she said Dad, realizing that it wouldn't do anything--he wouldn't hear her, but she was expecting to see those familiar blue orbs any moment. There weren't any orbs, though. Of course! When she needed them and was ready to give in those bastards didn't show up! Neither of them! It almost brought tears to her eyes, but Mel fought that back and moved to keep walking. Where? She had not a damn clue.
What were her options? Mel wasn't the best at writing spells--it probably wouldn't work anyway! She couldn't just orb around like her brothers, so that took that out. She didn't have any way of magical transport like they did. She was pretty much stuck here. It was frustrating. With frustration, though, Melinda knew blowing shit up could come. She didn't want to do that. It drew too much attention. So, the small witch brought her hands up and crossed them across her chest hoping to avoid that. Movement helped keep her warm to a certain extent, but after she'd covered a bit of distance she started to feel it. Without even thinking it through, Melinda picked the first place she noticed and sat on the front steps. If someone came out of this place with a gun...well, she just hoped that didn't happen. Resting her elbows on her knees, Melinda looked out into the distance. What the hell was she going to do?
