Who: Saffron and Mal! What: Last time they met, Saffron was space trash. Now, who knows? When: today! Where: A neutral place. Warnings: TBA
Mal was very hesitant about meeting up with Saffron, and he was in all rights to be. Why he even agreed was beyond him. Maybe he felt a teeny bit of regret for leaving her out with the trash, but mostly he wanted to see if she could keep her word. Not a single trick. Mal did not have high hopes for lack of trickery. After all he wasn't exactly in the most savory of light when it came to friends and relations. But he wasn't an idiot, he didn't go in unarmed, he always had a weapon. Malcolm Reynolds without a weapon was like Star Wars without Storm Troopers. It just wasn't a thing that happened. He never knew who was going to take a shot at him so it was better safe then sorry. He'd learned from experience.
He wasn't about to be marooned a second time around. Every time Saffron had been in the picture, it lead to general badness and complications. The former Captain of Serenity was not a fan of complications. Yet somehow they all came about and ended up in his lap. He was striving to keep his nose clean this time and come out unscathed. He would not fall for another one of her little acts, because he knew her too well now. Right?
He was not going to be pulled in. He was determined. He really did not believe any of the words that'd come out of her mouth, and so he had her agree to meet him in a public place. The park. There was enough space to talk privately, but not enough to start creating a scene and that sounded just fine to him. The park was virtually empty, there were a few passers by but not many at that time of day. It was perfect.
