Who: Booth and Brennan
What: Brennan's keeping Booth from doing something he'll regret. By getting him sedated.
Where: Lavender's and then Complex Infirmary
When: Valentine's Day evening
Warnings Should be none
Once again, Brennan had been at the lab when she had gotten Booth's text about wanting to be with her. But after the incident with Sam, she hadn't been certain. Or the incident with the Sins. So she had taken it with a grain of salt. Still, the anthropologist felt something strange, a feeling of hope. That maybe this time things could work out for them. Yes, she understood that Booth had wanted time, but what if he had changed his mind? It wasn't like Brennan could just turn off her feelings for him. She was good at avoiding them and ignoring them, but that didn't mean she could just turn them off. Add in the nature of the day and Brennan wanted to believe that maybe things could work out.
But right before she had prepared to leave, Brennan noticed the posts in the comms. Simon's about sedation and Sweets to Booth. Booth's response. And once again, her heart had broken. She just needed to stop hoping. It always ended in pain. This was why she was a scientist. It was why she hid behind it. Because science couldn't hurt her. Even so, she had noticed Booth's comment to Simon, about being sedated and so the brunette decided she was going to ensure that Booth did just that before he did something he regretted. So, heading to Lavender's as she'd been planning to do anyway, Brennan knocked on the door.
Once it was opened, the anthropologist took a look at Booth and sighed.
"I'm taking you to the infirmary to be sedated. Let's go." And before he could even protest, Brennan took Booth's hand and started to lead him out of the building to go to the Complex. She would deal with the repercussions the following day. Right now it was taking care of Booth and his random declarations of love.
