Who: Saffron What: Arrival and setting herself up Where: Lawrence Streets When: Valentines Day Rating: TBD Status: Complete, Narritive
Saffron was unhappy. Well of course she was unhappy she was covered in trash, awful smelly things of who knows what origin and she was here because that stupid...man and his stupid whore had managed to get one single step ahead of her. And most annoyingly of all, she didn't have a plan. There was nothing. No great plan that she could point to as a solution to get out of this. The Alliance Marshells were on their way and she...had to think of a story. Any story. But Durran would have filled them in too wouldn't he... Durran, she might have actually missed him. She had been happy with him for a while untill...until she knew it was time to move on. That's how it worked, never get close, never fall in love. Keep to the con, always keep to the con. And it seemed she had been doing well at just that after her time with Durran until Mal Reynolds drunkenly stumbled into her clutches.
"Hwoon Dan!! she cursed in fury, kicking at the trash and somehow, typically managing to dislodge something that sent her slipping back further into the garbage. This. Was not fair. She didn't deserve this, not any of it.
Well other people would say she did but those people were fools. Easy marks, pains in her ass and generally people that should get as far out of her life and stay there. She decided she would be happy if she never saw Mal Reynolds or any of his crew ever again. In fact she slumped back and wished it, wished it with every fibre of her being. And opened her eyes to.... lights, blinding lights...what was... Saffron scrambled from the road completely distracted, confused, and terrified as a metal....something rushed past her, a transport of some kind and it was going too damn fast to be in the way of people, hadn't they heard of roads in this place. As it turned out of course she was on a road and gathering a little group around her worried. She was dressed different than them, little bit anyway and she was of course covered in trash and smelling like it she suspected. And of course she'd appeared out of nowhere. Someone had to have drugged her. Inara. How dare she, drugging people was just... Well okay it was a valid tactic. But still...
"You okay honey? ...You were just standing out there..." asked one. Saffron looked up, affecting a scared look that wasn't all acting on her part. "Um...I guess, I... I was walking and then I was there and I.... Can you help me?" Kindly old dear that the woman was, she agreed and simply enquired her new charges name. Saff had to bite back the amusement, different planet same stupid stupid people. Now what hadn't she used in a while. "...I'm Lydia...Lydia Crandell"
Two hours later and she had a money card, transport and a number for the kindly woman's son.
