Elphaba was sitting in her room, not doing much of anything. When they had returned home with Bonnie, Elphaba had taken the still unconscious blonde to her room, tucking her into bed and feeling absolutely horrible about what had happened. She'd then gone up to her attic, changed out of her bloodied clothes and took a long hot shower, trying to wash away all the blood. But even when the blood had physically been gone from her body, it was still metaphorically there. After having dried her hair, she'd gone into her room and more or less had remained there ever since. She'd slept for over half a day after that, though her sleep was filled with nightmares ranging from what had happened while rescuing Bonnie to everything that had happened in Oz.
When Galinda had said she'd found something for her, she couldn't help but be suspicious about what exactly this object was. Knowing the blonde, she was running the endless possibilities of pink things through her mind. Yes, Galinda had said that Elphaba would love it, but that was a bit subjective, really. When she heard the knock, she turned from her window to answer the door, but when she was told to close her eyes, she couldn't help but roll them first before she closed them. "Okay, they're closed." She heard Galinda enter the room, then felt something in her hands. She held onto the object, a slightly puzzled look coming over her face as the shape of it was not what she expected. On command, she opened her eyes and looked at the object in her hands.
What she saw was definitely not what she'd expected. Her eyes went wide and for several moments she couldn't even breathe. Her mother's bottle. It had been the only thing of her mother that she'd had. Secretly, she had been wishing she'd had it here with her as a means of comfort, a way to be close to her mother. And now, here it was. Galinda had brought it with her. Elphaba looked up at Galinda, completely stunned and tears welled up in her eyes.
"Thank you," she said softly, her voice cracking slightly. She stepped close to the blonde and wrapped her arms around her, hugging her tightly. "Thank you. This...means so much to me." She closed her eyes, bottle clenched in one hand and the blonde clenched in her arms.
