Abby had taken this whole new world, new universe thing surprisingly well. Well okay, so she completely missed home, her lab, her friends and co-workers, but at least Ziva was here, so that was some semblance of normalcy at least. She had moments of freaking out about the rest of the team back home. Were they all lying dead in a ditch somewhere? Or perhaps Gibbs had found replacements for them? Or were they frantically looking for them? Yes, Gibbs undoubtedly had their whole world turned upside down trying to find her and Ziva. Abby couldn't help but smile at that thought. Gibbs would stop at nothing to find and save one of his own.
But today, Abby was in search of caffeine. She was having complete Caf-Pow withdrawal, and she needed to hurry up and get a hold of a lab and the necessary ingredients so she could make her own. She'd tried a drink called Monster, and while it was good, it wasn't Caf-Pow. So today, she'd try coffee. Finding a Starbucks was easy, there was one everywhere. Hell, the whole world was a Starbucks were Abby was concerned. She was dressed, as always, like a goth teenager. Her black hair was pulled up in two high pigtails. Walking up to the counter, she ordered a large size of the most caffeinated drink on the menu, which wasn't too hard for her to decipher. After getting her drink, she turned to find a seat, pursing her lips a bit as she saw most places were taken. She walked by a table where a blonde woman sat reading a book. Glancing at the book, she almost continued walking until she saw it was about forensics.
"Oh are you into forensics?" She exclaimed, backing up a step and grinning a bit wide-eyed with excitement. "Well, of course you are otherwise you wouldn't be reading about it. Sorry, I just get really excited about forensics because, well, I am a forensic scientist and I'm a geek and proud of it." Suddenly, she realized the woman must think she was insane. "I mean, I'm not crazy, really. Not in the clinical sense anyway. I'm just really over-excited by this." She almost blurted out that she was from a different world, but she didn't think that was going to help her case for claiming not to be crazy.
