SAM + Booth!
Ruby was easy on the eyes for sure, but Booth didn't need to see his friends wife naked, and discussing it was more then a little awkward to him so he was glad when the conversation shifted toward family. His wasn't the best situation growing up, infact he wouldn't have wished it on anyone but Sam was talking about his own and so he listened. They had an interesting dynamic. Not even Booth could assess them and he was pretty good at reading people. Bones might even admit to him being the best in that area. And a compliment from Bones wasn't something to be taken lightly. "Nobody is perfect." He stated with a shrug. "My brother's screwed me plenty of times but I still love him. " Maybe it was true and he did have a bit of a white knight complex when it came to his family, but that's what older brothers were for. They was the protectors and men of said family. The job of the men was to keep the family safe.
"Younger actually. Jared. Lieutenant-Commander in the US Navy. " He said offhandedly. All male Booth's had that in common, it was just a thing in his family. When they were of age it was the fastest way out of a bad situation, and the military was honorable. He had the same ideas for Parker if they ever made it past the apocalypse, and if he lived that long. He would like to see his son join the military, but he would never be as hard on him as his family was on him.
Just when Booth thought the complications in his life were going to calm down a little, the drunk texting brought more to the surface, and when it came down to it he wasn't sure he had the energy to deal with it. It was Bones so he at least owed her a conversation, but another relationship?..he just didn't think he could. Time was what he needed. Desperately. He felt like half the time e was drowning in the drama, and could barely keep his head above water sometimes. "I can't even think straight when it comes to even looking at another relationship right now. I owe it to Bones to at least talk to her about it, but I don't want to screw this one up." He toyed with his glass and watched as the condensation grew on the outside of the glass.
