SAM + Booth!
The ceremony had been nice. Booth always had a soft spot for weddings, even if his partner didn't share the same view. They rarely did, but usually she was at least willing to talk to him about it. Tonight things were different. The usual banter was lighter then it should have been, and even if Bones was unaware of it there was tension. Booth could feel it. He always could. So when she got up to find the booze he just nodded. "Yeah, all right. " She'd mentioned something about a text message from him, but honestly when it came down to it he couldn't remember who he texted and who he didn't. Or why he even ended up with Sam's phone in the first place. He sat there for a minute while the wedding began to break off toward the party area and fished through his phone. That was when he found it. Bones had said she loved him, but he'd broken her heart..How was that even possible? He'd wanted them to work for a long time, but he knew it would always be complicated so they'd agreed to keep things professional. And the fact that he had found another person besides Bones that he loved was beyond him. His brows furrowed as he looked at the text message. It wasn't possible for him to have sent it, was it?...Booth didn't know. He didn't know how to react except to feel a deep sense of dread wash over him.
It was supposed to be a happy occasion, so he quickly turned off his phone. Maybe if he closed his eyes and pretended he could imagine he didn't see it. He'd told Bones a couple of times that he qanted to be with her, and now she wanted to be with him and Booth had no idea how to feel in that moment. So he stood up and pocketed the cell phone, heading directly toward the nearest table of booze. That's when he spotted him, Sam. The one he switched phones with, and had caused the confusion...but it was his wedding day. So Booth wouldn't make a scene, or wreck it for him. He simply sank down beside him and picked up a glass full of champagne and clapped a hand on his shoulder for a second. "How's it feel being a married man?" As he looked over the party he took a long drink of his champagne and pulled off his jacket, he just generally got as comfortable as possible.
