Who: Elena Gilbert
When: February 4, 2011
Where: Her room at Damon's
What: Elena is upset and talking to Mr. Teddy v2
Rating: G
Elena felt powerless. She had given Elphaba her bracelet with the promise of getting it back, and then she was alone in Damon's place. Well, Damon was probably around but the brunette didn't know where or if she wanted to see him at the moment. He was hovering over her, as if convinced she was going to rush off into the night and get herself killed. Okay, so she did want to do more to find Bonnie, but Elena knew her limitations and it was killing her. Everyone she knew had some kind of ability. Even Galinda and Elena was stuck with nothing.
Sighing as she closed the door, Elena slid down against the door and stared down the hall blankly for a moment. All she could do was hope the bracelet would help Elphaba have a vision. At least then she would have contributed something to the search. Well, no. She had gotten them to know that Bonnie's boss was behind it with her and Damon's investigation two days previous. But what good did that do when she wasn't allowed to do anything to help beyond that? Eyes closing, Elena blinked back her tears before she stood up.
"I'm going to bed, Damon!" Pushing herself up, the petite brunette moved towards her room sluggishly. She knew she wouldn't be sleeping that night. She had barely slept at all since Bonnie's disappearance. Worry kept her awake, doubts gnawed at her very core. It was horrible, but she had to keep a level head. So she wrote out her feelings in the diary she had picked up. She hugged Mr. Teddy with all she was worth. It was comfort she could get on her own so as not to bother Damon even more.
Slipping into her room, Elena changed into her pajamas and moved to her bed, curling up and hugging the teddy bear Damon had gotten him. What had possessed him to do that, Elena didn't know, but she was thankful. It was something that was similar to home. A comfort. But even now, she couldn't stay still. So getting up, Mr. Teddy still in hand, Elena began to pace, holding the teddy bear to her chest as she ran her fingers through her hair.
"This isn't fair, Mr. Teddy. I should be able to do more to help. She's my best friend! Yet no one thinks I can do anything because I don't have any special powers. I know what they're doing and I hate it. I just wish they had faith in me...."
Sniffling, Elena wiped at her eyes with her free hand and went back to her pacing.
"I wish Bonnie had told me the truth.... it's as if she doesn't trust me and how can a friendship survive without trust?" It was something she had thought she'd never have again with Damon. Not since he had killed Jeremy. She couldn't trust him. She had hated him. And so, she couldn't be his friend. Yet he had once again made her trust him. Had done things to help, not because she asked. Just because he was a good person even if he didn't see it. And so those feelings of hate and distrust had faded away. Add in that the Damon she was living with had never killed Jeremy? Well, it was easier to trust him. Because this time she had made sure he hadn't done anything rash after learning the truth. But did that mean Jeremy's death was on her hands, even if Jeremy had survived?
"I hate this, Mr. Teddy. I really do...." Sitting on the bed, Elena smooth her hand over the fur of the teddy bear, tears falling. Sure, it was juvenile to talk to a stuffed animal and pace like a caged animal, but it wasn't like Elena had much else going on. She had already gone into great depth her feelings of betrayal and worry. Now all she had was to talk to an inanimate object because it wouldn't tell her that she was weak and needed to be protected.
"I'm not as weak as everyone seems to make me out to be. And I know there are things I can't even imagine that exist, but I'm not the damsel in distress everyone seems to make me out to be.... right, Mr. Teddy?" And of course there was no answer. Scrunching her nose up, Elena blinked back her tears and flopped on her back, hugging Mr. Teddy to her tightly.
"I just hope we get her back okay... I can't lose her. I nearly lost Jer and it tore me up... I can't lose Bonnie... I can't lose any of them...."
