Damon nodded. This process was more tedious than simply compelling a person, but usually fairly effective. “And if worse comes to worse, you can be the good cop and I can be the bad cop.” It was only said to lighten the mood a bit, but Damon’s smile suggested that he was all too willing to play the bad cop.
He headed for the door, sure to hold it open for Elena like the gentleman he once was. Damon seemed calm and well put together, but his mind was jumping from thought to thought at a rapid pace. He thought about Bonnie and also wondered if bringing Elena into the picture had been such a good idea. Witches could be incredibly unpredictable and he doubted that Bonnie’s boss was the exception to the rule.
