Everything was fuzzy when the cool wind first touched Anakin's cheek. It was a thing he hadn't been sure he'd ever feel again after the pain he remembered tearing through his body when his spleen was ruptured. He could hear the sounds of night time, and the white noise of people rustling about. Anakin wasn't sure he wanted to open his eyes, the last thing he remembered was those creatures the Vong had created, and an ice cold floor where his own blood pooled around him. What was he going to see when he opened them for the first time in what felt like a century? Was it going to be more war, and more pain? He remembered those most vividly from before. He didn't want to wake to another world like that. But this one felt different the more all of his senses began to open up. Less hectic. Less anger and fear.
It smelled sweeter. There was a cool wind that brushed his skin and fluttered through his dark brown hair. Anakin could feel something natural beneath him. Where was he? He knew he was only going to find the answer by opening his eyes and learning the truth for himself. He could be brave again couldn't he? Slowly his piercing blue eyes opened and took in the sights. Everything for a moment was blurred and swam like watching water inside a fish tank. Magnified until he blinked his eyes and watched bright colors infront of him open up a strange new world. He'd never seen it before. There were no droids, no gigantic furry beasts with four arms and five eyes, there were people. Average looking human beings walking about and minding their own business.
Anakin began to feel his body again. His feet could still move, his knees could still bend. But what about his spleen? If he sat up would it bleed? Stiffly he moved his arm down toward it. Mechanically almost and touched the place he vaguely remembered being impaled in. He expected pain, but there was none. No nothing, no blood, no fear, no death. Unless this was what came after death. Finally Anakin trusted himself and sat up on the park bench, just quietly taking in the scene around him. His light saber was still at his side, the Force was still with him. Everything was there, he just needed a moment not to be overwhelmed, and not to be dead. The world he was on felt different in almost every way, except for two very faintly familiar bonds that caused him to place his hand to his cheek as his head began to throb.
He finally stood on his own two legs and staggered slightly. He needed to find Jacen and Jania. His brother and sister were there. Maybe in trouble. Their bond didn't feel quite the same as it had before. He had very nearly missed it entirely. That wouldn't stop him though, despite his weak and exhausted disposition, Anakin once again pushed himself to begin the search for his siblings.
