Having decided that Parker needed more art supplies as a way to keep him distracted during Booth's uncommon disappearance, Brennan had left him with Angela and had decided to go to the off campus book store to get the supplies. After all, the kid needed to color and it would hopefully distract him from his worry with his father. Truth be told, Brennan was also worried about Booth. He hadn't been back to the complex, he hadn't been at Lavander's, he wasn't answering any of the numbers he had given her, it was as if he had just.. disappeared. Something the forensic anthropologist did not handle well. She was getting to the point where she was going to call hospitals and police stations in search of him. But for now, it was finding something for Parker.
Why she chose the off campus book store, she wasn't certain. They just tended to have better prices and it wasn't like she had a bunch of money on her as it were. But she was determined to help the six year old adjust and settle in to living with her. She was crossing a street when some jerk ran into her.
"Watch it, bitch."
"Actually you're the one who ran into me. Your anger is completely irrational." Being the woman she was, Brennan didn't take kindly to people like this person she had run into. He was acting completely irrationally for running into her. But apparently that wasn't what he wanted to hear, because suddenly Brennan found herself flipped onto the sidewalk. Well. If he wanted to play that way...
Pushing herself up, the brunette side swept at the unknown person and knocked him to his feet. It was only then she noticed the black eyes. Well, that was unsettling. It also caused Brennan to flash back to the plane crash she'd been in. The stewardess with black eyes, the smoke around the wings. The jostling as the plane descended far too quickly. And the momentarily lapse in consciousness was enough to have Brennan thrown through a window. Well, this was interesting.
Wincing, she stepped out and blinked. This.. couldn't be a demon. They did not exist. It just wasn't possible. Why didn't she have her gun on her?! Oh. Right, she didn't have it here. That was why.
