WHO: Epiphany Greaves and John Constantine.
WHAT: Epiphany's working in her "workshop." She could use some company.
WHEN: Evening, 1/19.
WHERE: Epiphany's "workshop." Meaning the new looking shed behind the complex.
WARNINGS: It's Epiphany. There's a really good chance of cursing.

Epiphany Greaves was someone that worked a hell of a lot more than she let on. Sure, she went out at night a lot. A girl's gotta relax sometime, but she tended to broadcast when she was gong out by asking if anyone wanted to join her, whereas when she worked she simply went out back and camped out in her workshop for hours at a time.

That was why she went out so often, actually. After being cooped up in her workshop for the vast majority of the day, and often half of the night, she needed to go out and relax.

As these sin infections people had acquired became more and more intense she spent more and more time trying to work up something to help people for more than a few measly hours at a time. This was no easy task, of course. This was trying to come up with something to fight off a demon-based infection and those weren't quite the same as someone having a chemical imbalance in their brain.

Sometimes she thought coming up with something to fight off a demon infection... thing was like trying to fight Dracula with a popsicle stick. Especially since she was having to rely solely on memory. But it was just going to be a matter of time before Epiphany actually enabled herself to go try out the whole "The library supplies you with whatever book you need" thing.

Epiphany was closing in on her ninth hour straight in her workshop (she hadn't even stopped to eat during that time) when she finally let out a frustrated groan and put her head down on a clear spot on her counter space.

By now John had realised that whatever this 'demon infection' bollocks was, it'd managed to get a hold of him. When it came out that the curse seemed to be taking on the form of the seven deadly sins he at first thought that maybe he'd gotten the wrath part of the deal, but now he was starting to think it could be envy instead. He noticed in retrospect that he seemed to be the most affected whenever he talked with Epiphany, and while he had been reluctant to admit it to himself, that actually seemed to add up. Well, at least it did in that mystical fucked up way that things usually fell into place in the life of John Constantine. He was still doubting the theory himself however. He hadn't been in town for very long and so he really hadn't had much interaction with anyone else yet. Maybe those bloody comic books were just making him paranoid....

John found it somewhat difficult to force himself to go over to Epiphany's place to snag some of the mood stabilizer she'd been doling out. As the influence of the curse grew stronger he found himself increasingly and irrationally jealous of Epiphany's alchemy skills. He was John fucking Constantine, master of the bloody occult! He could make his own damn mood stabilizer. That hadn't gone the way he'd planned however and after making himself ridiculously ill on accident the other day when the magic went awry he realised in one of his more lucid moments that he needed the girl's help. Although he was going to be seriously pissed if there were any other blokes over there hanging all over her when he showed up! He'd murder the lot of them. He needed to hurry and make sure he had her all to himself.

Following Epiphany's instructions he made his way over to her "workshop." Letting himself into the shed he found her face down on the counter. "Sleeping on the job, eh?" he said by way of greeting, leaning against the door frame casually.

Now that was a voice that Epiphany knew like the back of her own hand. She didn't even have to look up to see who it was when she heard John speaking behind her, even though she hadn't actually spent much time around him in the last few months. Sure, it was partly due to the fact that for much of the time they'd been in two completely different dimensions, but then there was the added bonus that he'd obviously gotten one of those fucking sins not long after showing up here in Lawrence. And really, having him snap at her for no reason even more than he normally did was just annoying. At least she was alone in her workshop when he showed up. Hopefully that'd make him bitch less.

"I'm not sleeping," she said simply before sitting up in her chair and spinning it around to face him. "I got frustrated so I put my head down for a second. You'd be getting frustrated if you'd been at this for nine bloody hours in a row without making much progress, too."

But hey, at least Epiphany was pretty sure she knew what he was after. "You want a stabilizer, right?" she asked, not even waiting for his response before standing up and making her way to another counter top, where she had several little vials of the stuff lined up. They were all the same dosage, all from the same batch, so she just picked up one of them at random.

"Oi, you're frustrated? I'm the one with the sodding demonic curse I can't seem to shake. You're the lucky one," John reminded her, stepping into the cramped workspace. About all that, how was that fair? He ended up stuck with some seven deadly sins nonsense while Epiphany over there got off scott free? He was so bloody jealous of her!

Despite his sour disposition (well, more sour than usual) however, he was actually quite relieved to finally get some one on one time with the girl, though he couldn't tell at the moment how much of that was the ridiculous envy talking and how much was genuine longing. He'd barely seen her the entire time he'd been in town despite the fact that he'd come there looking for her in the first place. That was both of their fault though.

"God, yes," he answered immediately as she was already reaching for the stuff. He'd be much more adept out sorting himself and this whole mess out if he wasn't constantly being distracted by ridiculous bouts of jealousy every ten minutes. Every bloke that passed by him was better looking, every pretty girl was fawning over someone else when it should've been him! He wanted what everyone else already seemed to fucking have! He never got what he wanted! "Better make that a double," he sighed, rubbing at his temple as if to push those irrational thoughts away. He leaned back against the counter behind him and busied himself with fishing out a cigarette and his lighter while she did her thing.

"Yeah, I'm frustrated. I'm allowed to be frustrated even though I'm not infected," Epiphany snapped. After that she stood still for a moment and took a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm down a bit. She wasn't as good at her job when she was pissed off so it was best she keep that at bay for the time being.

Once those few seconds passed she picked up a second vial and turned to take the couple of steps towards John. "You're only taking one right now, but it'll only last a couple hours since it's trying to fight a demon based thing and not just some sort of chemical imbalance. The second is for once the first one wears off, not for now. We don't need you going and getting yourself genuinely sick right now, do we?" With that, Epiphany held the vials out for him to take. "I will deck you if you take both now. You've been warned."

In all honesty, Epiphany had missed bickering with John while she was in town but he wasn't, but she would be hard pressed to admit that out loud. Especially when he was currently being all insane with envy. And, alright. She'd actually missed him, not just the bickering with him, but she wasn't about to admit that out loud either. Not without prompting, at least.

Someone's feelin' bossy. You really are uninfected," John smirked when Epiphany snapped at him and then ordered him to only take one dosage of the stabilizer. He'd rather her not punch him in the face again so he decided to take the first one and see how it went before he downed the second. Not to say that her threats of domestic violence would stop him should he really want to do something. In all honesty, he had missed their bantering too. There weren't many pretty girls out there who could match his snark and even fewer who could tolerate it for longer than a few minutes at a time. Epiphany seemed quite capable of both. Maybe that was why those nutters who were writing that bloody comic book about him had decided she was the one for him...

John unscrewed the plastic cap of the small vile and brought it up to his mouth, removing his cigarette from his lips with his other hand. He grimaced when he made the mistake of smelling the liquid inside before downing it quickly. "Ugh. Do I even want to know what's in that?" he asked, glancing over at Epiphany. He handed her back the empty vile and quickly took a long drag from his Silk Cut. Ah yes, delicious nicotine to cleanse the palette. "How long does it take to work?" he asked, already feeling a little odd, though not necessarily in a bad way.

"It shouldn't take too long. A couple minutes or so," Epiphany shrugged as she spoke, then turned to busy herself by closing up a few open containers of various ingredients she had sitting around. "And trust me, no. You don't want to know what's in that." Really, she thought it was better if people didn't know the majority of what went into her potions, especially the ones that they were supposed to drink. If they knew they'd be less likely to take the potions, even if they needed them. Or if they found out after the fact? They might just get sick.

"So what have you been keeping yourself busy with since you showed up here?" Epiphany asked as she went about putting the various ingredients into the somewhat shoddy cabinets. Really, Epiphany thought she should just get herself some sort of office space or shop or something since she had the money for that sort of thing again. She could at least get a bigger, and nicer, shed for behind the complex. With better cabinets and lighting instead of the rigged set up she already had. "Because if I know you, you haven't just been sitting quietly in your room, taking a nap every few hours."

John nodded, feeling the spell's influence on his thoughts starting to lift and his possessiveness over Epiphany fade. For the most part. He was sure he'd probably ingested worse in his time but decided to take her word that he didn't want to know what she'd used to concoct the potion he'd just downed. Instead he took another long drag on his cigarette while the mood stabilizer did its thing and Epiphany tidied up.

"Lately? Trying to sort this fucking curse out," he muttered, glancing up when she asked what he'd been up to. "Not much before that. Scoping out the town and this apocalypse rubbish." He sighed somewhat exasperatedly. It seemed like no matter where he ended up he could never catch a break when it came to the supernatural. "What about you? Aside from that little tosser you like so much," he said, his tone sarcastic as always but not nearly as harsh as it had been when he'd been under envy's full influence.

"Get used to it," Epiphany said simply as she put away the last of the bottles and jars she had sitting around. "Sometimes I feel like completely ridiculous shit happens more often here than it does back home. Since I got here there have been multiple kidnappings, we got shoved five years into the future for a couple weeks, came back and realized we missed five months of our lives here, had a few days where we were all irrationally happy no matter what happened, and that's just scratching the surface. I'm not even including all the grade-A pissants that show up and go around possessing, killing, or just generally pissing people off."

Once she finished closing her shoddy cabinets she sat back down and looked at John. He looked like shit, probably due to being infected with whatever sin it was that had it's grips on him (envy, from the looks of it), and due to trying to figure it all out. Those were Epiphany's theories, at least. "Actually, aside from a couple of the times I've gone out since you got here, I haven't spent all that much time around Nathan," she said with a shrug. "Look, maybe knowing this'll help keep that jealousy of yours at bay for a bit. I'm not seeing Nathan, he's just one of my mates." Sure, she slept with him a couple times, but that didn't need to be said at that particular moment.

"So now that that's out in the open, I haven't even gone out in a few days. Unless you count going out to try and track down more ingredients for my potions."

"Bloody brilliant," John muttered when Epiphany informed him of the insanity that was apparently this town. As if he didn't deal with enough of it as it was already. At least it was apparent that the place had been fucked long before he arrived, meaning that he couldn't be blamed for being the source of the madness for a change. That was sort of nice. "The future, eh? How was that?" He had to admit he was curious about that one, especially if they were supposed end up married or whatever.

John Constantine pretty much always looked like shit. It sort of came with the lifestyle and all though it was true that the Envy hadn't been helping much with things. Neither was the fact that he hadn't really been sleeping much at all. "Just giving you a hard time," John said, waving off Epiphany's claims about Nathan though he couldn't deny he was a little glad she wasn't actually seeing the little tosser. Cute girl like her could do way better. Though her apparent taste in men seemed to indicate she had a thing for assholes.

"Yeah? Your posts all over the place make it seem you're out every other night," he said, raising a skeptical eyebrow. "That a roundabout invitation, is it?" he smirked.
