Martha gave a helpless 'what can you do' expression. "She was young and blonde and he was going through a mid life crisis, or at least that's what I tell myself," she laughed. "And the rest of us had to put up with it before he came to his senses and ditched her and got back with mum. I mean I can put up with the occasional 'babe' or 'honey' or something that's actually personal for the couple but 'big boy' or, seriously 'Boo Boo'?" She shook her head at that with a bemused expression. "That's just a whole new level of wrong."
She was hardly offended and she genuinely hoped she'd never have to treat Eliot for anything. As much as she liked sometimes showing off her medical expertise, she wasn't a fan of doing it because a friend was hurt. "None taken," she waved a casual hand, brushing that detail away. "Here's hoping you have nothing but good health. Even if you do seem to add to the intrigue with the patching up."
It was tempting, really tempting to want to go. Martha knew she was looking almost wistful at the idea. "You thought about the whole demon fighting thing, could take to the road like the other Hunters?"
He was right about that, it was a mark of a decent person. That was the Doctor for you. "I think the Doctor liked to think he could save the universe every single day and if anyone died he always took it really badly. He's a great man. Terrifying, but great." She smirked, sipping her drink before she nodded. "I guess I have been really lucky. Got to see the universe, meet Shakespeare, inspire a sonnet and despite everything my family's safe." And would remain so, even in her absence thanks to UNIT. "Oh I don't know, coming here has its perks."
