Martha actually paused for a moment before she grinned, with a slight blush threatening. "And that's actually the nicest compliment I've had for a while," she grinned. "Thanks. You're pretty cute yourself, for the record." She had to laugh at the idea of crossover logic, shaking her head slightly with a smile. "Some couples have more crossover than others it seems."
She looked faintly smug as she sat there, not missing the way Eliot had straightened up. "See, everyone should be nice to the doctors, we have the power."
It wasn't often that growing up in England's capital had left her feeling deprived, but just sometimes she wished she could have had experiences that only a countryside could have offered. Like horseriding. It always looked like fun. "Maybe you could teach me some time, if we ever have a long enough break between crisis's."
She nodded a moment before she distracted herself with toying with her drink, playing with the glass. "Truth is I didn't really think about it at the time. It had been a mad day, with aliens and family drama and then there he was, with his time machine offering me a trip. Didn't even know him really and I just said yes," a slight smile came across her face as she remembered. "The Doctor, he's mad. Brilliant and terrifying and wonderful. But he's like fire. Stay too close for too long and you end up burned. And he can just leave afterward. Took me a while but eventually I realised I couldn't just keep running with him, I had to stay behind."
