Padmé was still getting used to Kansas, everything about it was strange to her. Plus she was still desperate to get back to her own galaxy. What would happen if she wasn't there? She didn't even want to think about it. Her world, her galaxy, her home, was on the brink of war or worse and here she was with a university text book in hand, trying to understand the finer details of the United Nations.
She left her room in the complex and headed for the shared kitchen, she wasn't really sure what she was looking for. Company mostly. While she enjoyed reading the text book, she did want someone to discuss it with - or someone to be with period.
It was strange, having family here - who was family but at the same time not really. Padmé couldn't believe she ended up marrying Anakin. Anakin, little Ani. She hadn't seen Anakin since she was 14, ten years ago. That would make him 19 now. She wondered how he was, what he was doing. She had grandchildren and great-grandchildren, it was so bizarre. Padmé had thought of children and a family, but then Queen Jamilia had asked her to be senator, and all those thoughts were gone. Politics were her true passion, always would be but now she couldn't help but wonder.
Sighing Padmé, ran a hand through her hair as if trying to get all of those thoughts out of her head. She glanced over at the only other occupant who was seemingly having trouble with a can opener. A small smile tugged on Padmé's lips, although she found the technology here primitive she had tried her best to learn as much as she could within her first week of arrival. Still, she almost wish she had used her wish for a protocol droid or maybe an R2 unit, both would come in handy right now.
"Here," Padmé offered, indicating to the can opener. "I'll show you how to do it."
