Booth was in the gray that it was good or not. He knew Parker didn't deserve to grow up in a place like this, but at the same time he missed him too much to deny it if he ever did have the option of having his son around.
The corners of his lips went upwards into a smirk as she mentioned the money and guyness and he shrugged. "I do alright. " He wasn't going to brag, but he was pretty good with the gambling. He'd taken Eliot a few times when he didn't cheat, and even once or twice when he had tried. Booth knew quite a few poker tricks, and now had the option for more thanks to a book he'd gotten for Christmas from Jo about Poker tricks. He liked things like that, do it yourself books, or tips and tricks on games he liked. Things he could actually use. He still wanted a vintage phone. One that was possibly heavy enough to use as a weapon if the opportunity arose. He believed that made a good phone, the ability to use it as said weapon and to have it hold up.
Hanging out with Angela was weird and different, he usually tried to separate himself from his squints, had it happened back home-well face it it probably wouldn't have happened back home. Booth typically thought his squints were a little bit too squinty to hang out with. But here was another story, a different place, he wanted a piece of home. It was comforting to have Angela there with him even if they were quiet and a little awkward, drinking a beer.
"I am. Yeah." His apartment was a little cold despite using the heater, so the socks helped. He had a couple piles of interesting socks and ties he'd gotten for Christmas from various friends. "I'll see what I can do Ange." He couldn't make promises yet, but he would try to bring her in on things. "You want this right?" He had to ask, the last time Angela was there, she didn't seem all that excited about being brought back in on cases.
"That's good.." The look on his face said the opposite, but he didn't say anything else on the subject, he just shoved a piece of pizza in his mouth and leaned back into the couch.
