Kitty was trying to calm down. She really was. She was trying to get herself to stop crying. It was a combination of Mike and what that asshole had said. With John she hadn't liked being called names, sure, but he was a dickhead. Hell, John was an idiot and didn't know anything that was going on, so when he called her names, yeah, it didn't feel that nice, but it didn't hurt the same. A stranger, a guy that didn't know her calling her a whore? She hadn't even realized she wasn't kissing Mike until Mike had been pulling the other guy away. They were identical! It was creepy how identical the two of them were.
Right now all Kitty wanted was a hug. And she wanted Mike to talk to her too, but she'd settle on the hug for the moment. She was sad and no one could blame her with what was going on. She didn't expect anyone to fix it for her, she just needed to talk to Mike. She was sorry, but she hadn't known she was kissing someone else until too late. Why hadn't that guy interrupted her before she could get to that point? It wasn't fair. It wasn't her fault, she hadn't known, but that guy, Elliot, he had a chance to stop her before she had done anything.
Hearing Booth's voice ring, Kitty automatically headed toward his kitchen, sniffling and trying to wipe her eyes, though it didn't help in the least. Kitty wanted to be on the comms trying, but knew it wouldn't help. Maybe tomorrow Mike would want to talk to her, she hoped. The fact that Booth hugged her the second she was in range felt good, Kitty returned it, sucking in a breath. Booth was a good friend. He reminded her a lot of Logan. It was easy to care about him. It was easy to feel safe too.
"I... I hope so. I just need him to talk to me." Kitty said quietly, sniffling. "Thanks for letting me come over, Booth. Sorry you come back to this." She tried to joke, though it didn't work quite well with the little sniffle at the end.
