Why had she agreed to see him? It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that she still loved him. No, that definitely couldn't be it. He had kidnapped their daughter. No, he had kidnapped her daughter. He couldn't have seen Allana as his daughter when he was taking her. The problem was that this Jacen was different. This Jacen was in Lawrence, Kansas, on Earth. It was still more than a little difficult to wrap her mind around. She had been taken from her home at the worst possible moment and brought here. She had been taken from one war in order to serve as some sort of help in another. The problem was that Tenel Ka didn't want to be in any wars. She involved her fleets only when necessary. Her first concerns had to be for Hapes and her daughter. Those two things were what took priority in her life. Tenel Ka had to live up to her responsibilities. Being here conflicted with that. She had no choice, though. There was no way for her to get home. There were no space ports. For the time being she was required to accept her fate.
This meant that she had to deal with Jacen. A Jacen who genuinely seemed to be much more like the one that she had fallen in love with. She couldn't just accept that, though. He had do some much bad as Caedus. He had made too many mistakes for her to just accept that he was different. She needed time. She needed prove. She needed to see the differences in him. She needed to see him trying. She needed time to figure out what she should do and think. Her heart shouldn't factor into it at all, but Tenel Ka Djo did love Jacen. No matter what happened she still loved him underneath it all. She had turned against him, but it had been extremely difficult. It had taken all of her strength to do that. It was taking a lot of strength now. Tenel Ka Djo was a strong woman, though. She could handle this.
She had agreed to meet him, though she wasn't sure if was the right choice. The communication boards were impersonal, though. Part of her thought that perhaps seeing him might make it easier. Maybe he'd look different? Though those thoughts were followed directly by the realization that it was highly unlikely. She did know that there was too much temptation. She couldn't have said no to him. With that in mind, Tenel Ka had made the decision. That was why she found herself in the lobby of the complex at the moment. Her posture was straight, proper as was normal for her. It was the way she carried herself. She found herself standing almost eerily still. Pacing would do no good. It wouldn't make him show up any faster.
Grey eyes scanned around the lobby of the complex. It was so strange to think about this situation. Her small daughter was now a petulant teenager. There was quite a bit to get used to in this situation. The best decision was for her to begin trying to wade through everything now, begin to deal with the information and accept it. There was no telling whens he would be returning.
