Who: Ruby and OTA at the Complex
What: Ruby's wish leads to her doing something she's wanted to for ages
Where: The Complex
When: December 22nd - Mid Morning
Rating: TBD
Status: In Progress

She had hugged Sam. A lot. Danced about in a devils trap. Taken a bath in a huge tub of holy water. (That bit she'd leave out when recounting the story to Cas) and now there was just one thing left that Ruby wanted to do. She wanted to go to the complex. Do a dance there too. Inside the lobby and then she wanted to sit in the Impala. Maybe take her for a spin. Who knew? All she knew is that all the little tests she had done had worked and the trappings of black eyed demons didn't effect her anymore. She'd wished to be as free from weaknesses as Lilith had been and so she was. Of course the right words in Latin still hurt. But now being about to marry a hunter didn't worry her as much from a practical point of view. She couldn't get accidently splashed with holy water, nor trapped by those wishing to use her to hurt him. She hadn't made herself human. Sam had talked her out of that. But she was able to give him this instead. Able to become someone he could really have at his side hunting. Though she'd miss their little fun with devils traps. She supposed their other methods would have to suffice.

Traps still prickled at her conciousness, holy water still felt...wrong somehow but it didn't burn like it had before. Salt was just a nuicence that gave her a chill when she crossed it. She could live with that though.  She was strong. She hadn't asked for Lilith's power feeling that was a slippery slope to hell but asking to be free of the same weaknesses she was free of. She really was quite proud of her plan. It was clever. She was clever. And she'd made Sam happy with her wish. He didn't need to worry so much anymore.

She grinned as she pulled her car up to the complex doors and climbed out, running towards the entrance and jumping across the threshold. Hah! she thought amused with herself and twirrled around. It was a fairly simple set up. An apartment building. Fancy enough for what it was but it wasn't blocked to her anymore and that felt good. "Well hello there complex" she said with a wide grin plastering itself across her face as she tried to work out what to do now. Go and pester Dean. Go and pester anyone she wanted. Have another holy water bath. Go and have an easy drink at the roadhouse because she could now.

She was pretty much happy for anything that might come her way from the complex. She stood obnoxiously in the center of the devils trap at the vacant reception desk and rang the bell there several times. "Sloppy service complex people. Very sloppy"

The look of happiness faded from her face when she caught a glimpse of Danny. He didn't look good. He looked like he'd been drowning himself in booze even more than usual and, shit she thought he'd quit. She thought maybe it bothered her more cause he looked like Sam. She'd seen Sam in this state and she hated it. Not to mention Danny really was a friend, and she'd thought he'd enjoyed Thanksgiving. That maybe things were turning around a bit for him. She guessed maybe not, and she resolved to get to the bottom of that now he couldn't hide in the complex from her. But he'd asked about the wards. He'd need to know about those or he'd get more worried and he didn't need that. She shrugged lightly.

"Wards are fine, I can feel it. It's me Danny. It's my wish. I wished to be immune to what Lilith's immune to. So no more holy water, salt or traps. It's kind of awesome and mostly it made me want to run into this place and well...do a little dance. Then move the Impala a few spaces over to mess with Dean for the funny. But aside from that, its fine. Wards are fine, everyones still safe. I guess I got a little carried away huh?" she asked amused. She was still worried about the guy though. Whatever it was, he just didn't seem himself. Maybe he needed more things like Thanksgiving. More days where he could just be happy and himself. She thought he'd like that. "...so you look like hell. No pun intended" she said simply, changing the subject almost entirely. "What's wrong?" she asked.

He was a good guy. Tainted by hell just like her, just like Sam, and he didn't deserve to feel as bad as she expected he did. Though from what she could tell from the boards he didn't so much want to talk. "If you don't want to talk about it thats fine we can just spend some time together, we haven't in a while. Or you could help me carjack Dean for a little while. It'd chearer you up like nothing else and youcould totally get away with blaming it on Sam." So possibly she shouldn't help Danny use his likeness to her fiance to get him in trouble with his brother but it would be highly entertaining and maybe kick off the prank war again. That'd cheer people up wouldn't it.

More people should be happy as far as Ruby was concerned.

Her wish. Oh, thank god! Danny wasn't going to have to be responsible for anything. The last thing he needed was the pressure of trying to fix whatever went wrong before they were all swarmed by what-the-fuck-ever, especially since it was him and he'd just screw it up. "Good wish," was all he said, and it was more of a gruff grunt. He still had no clue what he was going to wish for, if anything. He knew Tess had wished to be able to see her son, and he knew it had worked for her...but he didn't want that. Oh, he wanted to see his kid. That wasn't the issue. The issue was that Danny Ketch wasn't a look-but-can't-touch kind of guy. Being able to see his kid all the time but being unable to interact, to play catch with his son or glare sternly at the boys that picked on his little daughter, would drive him insane, probably literally, and the last thing anyone needed was a nutty Spirit of Vengeance running around.

He supposed he could wish for a never-ending bottle of some expensive vodka. That would be nice. Pointless in the long run, as he'd discovered after giving up the booze. It really was just a crutch, because after Jess stopped him from his impromptu swan dive into the parking lot, he still felt just as horrible as he had the last forever or so. The funny thing was? He'd just replaced it with a different crutch. He felt like shit, he couldn't drink, so instead he'd lashed out at people and for awhile, he'd felt better. But just like the alcohol, it was only a temporary high.

When she said he looked like hell, he couldn't help but let out an amused snort. "Yeah, well, I ruled the joint once. So I guess it fits." His face visibly soured when she asked him what was wrong, and he was about to push away from the desk and finish his trek to the kitchen when she amended it. He relaxed against the desk again, searching her face to see if she was serious. She wanted to spend time with an unshaven drunk that looked like a bum and maybe should do some laundry in the near future?

While Danny was turning the idea over in his head, and completely without his knowledge, he glanced at the kitchen and swallowed convulsively. The booze was in there. The booze was a crutch, but goddamn was it a nice crutch. Better than being a dick to people, apparently. But Ruby was here being serious about hanging out, and some part of him desperately wanted that. Some part of him, buried under the crap of eleven years, missed having friends and loved ones like a junkie missed the needle.

He didn't quite smile. He wasn't up to that yet. But he nodded, and his voice was a little less dull when he said, "I guess I can't say no to a little carjacking." The decision made, he shifted on the desk so that he was looking at her and not the kitchen. "So what's the plan here? Just moving it around a little? Because as fun as the full Ferris Bueller joyride would be, I'm pretty sure he'd kill us both."

Damn right it was a good wish. It was a freaking amazing wish. It was a wish other wishes wished about in Ruby's somewhat biased opinion. She was free from the trappings of most demons and it felt good. She felt good, she felt strong. Properly strong for the first time in a long time and she didn't feel like a burden to Sam. She could help him on hunts, she could be a Hunter like him, and who knew demons better than other demons. Who knew her kind better. And she felt more able to negotiate with Crowley for the Colt now, it all fit. It all made sense and if it hadn't been for how...broken Danny actually looked, she might well have continued to be over enthused by the whole business. But he didn't need that. He just needed a friend right now from what she could tell.

And Ruby could do that. It was people like him that were helping her think like a human even if he didn't know it. Sure he had issues, so did Lindsey, so probably did Hadison, Jo, Hermionie and every other friend she was making since she'd switched sides. There were so many and it was all because Sam had taken a chance on her, fallen in love with her and shown her a different world. Oh she knew what he'd say, he'd opened the door but she had walked through and she had people who cared about her now, and people who in return she cared about. It meant something to her. And one of them needed her now by all accounts.

She noted how defensive he seemed when she asked was he okay. He wanted to run, he wanted to get as far away from her as possible, it was only her amending the question that kept Danny where he was. So she'd distract him, keep his mind on something else. She could do that.

"Moving it only, I wouldn't actually steal the thing, he'd break out the exorcism and we both know it" she told him, "But if we just move it a little it'll spook him. If I get away with it I'll do it again and we'll see how far it takes us." she laughed, looking toward the door and back at Danny. "Its possible I'm a little too easily amused, or have some kinda deathwish for messing with his baby. But either way you have to admit it'll be highly amusing" she reasoned. And it would be. It would be some kind of entertaining. That and get Danny out of the slump, out of the same loop he seemed to be in over and over again lately. But maybe he'd talk with all else going on.

Maybe he'd find it easier to do so with no pressure. And that could be no bad thing
