Who:Kon-El and Clark Kent. What:A failed attempt to fly. When: Tonight Where: The complex, rooftop. Warnings:TBA
One more minute in that big room by himself and he was going to lose it. It was way past his normal curfew, but it wasn't like Clark was there to ground him for breaking it. Again. And it wasn't like it was anything new. Conner was always breaking curfew. Always being a rebel. It wasn't that he didn't respect Clark or anything, it was actually the opposite. But he didn't like being trapped and confined when he felt so above it all. The grounded city that is. They had to walk everywhere. Take busses, ride trains, bikes, whatever else with wheels that moved them. Conner did not. Gravity was meaningless to him. On rare occasions he fell. But usually, no meaning at all.
Part of him was still hoping to find Krypto flying around that city and making a mess of things per usual. But the silly dog wasn't anywhere to be seen. Kon was upset. He was stuck in a world that didn't make sense. Forced to put on a mask of smiles and worry that someone could get hurt if they really knew his story, and Clark didn't know him to top it all off. Not to mention, Dick Grayson was there. He could hardly wait to hear what he had to say. He liked Tim. Tim was his best friend, but Dick was too much for him. They butted heads at every corner. It gave him a little hope that he sounded like Dick to Clark, but it was dashed the second he realized it was a dead end and going nowhere to help him. Apparently they were from different worlds.
Kon didn't know what to do on his own. Cissie was there, which helped a little. But she was no Tim Drake, or Clark Kent. Clark had practically raised him since he was broken out of Cadmus Labs and dumped in the Kryptonians lap. He had kinda hoped for a similar situation in this world, but Clark was so young. Probably only a few years older then him. Kon remembered stories his Clark would tell him about his teenage days whenever he was feeling down about being so different. They'd always helped before, but that didn't mean Kon wanted them in real time. He'd just accepted Smallville as home. That alone took him long enough to deal with. Now he had to readjust to another city. He tried to fake happiness until i was real. It was hard. He just couldn't. Heavy thoughts weighed on his shoulders. Things he'd never thought he'd have to deal with again had come back to bite him. So he stood ontop of the complex rooftop and looked down at the ground. For a minute he hesitated. When he focused he could hear everything. And it hurt his head.
Using a technique Clark had taught him to clear his mind, he tried to focus but he was scared. That had never stopped him before, and wasn't going to stop him then either. He took a step off that rooftop and tried to think about flight. Despite his attempts, he fell. Hard and fast through the air. Landing directly below ontop of a closed dumpster lid in the back of the building. The metal dented up around him.
