John needed to get out of that complex before he lost his mind. Damn Gabriel hitting on his wife, being extra creepy. It was his wife. Yet he was supposed to not get threaten-y and upset. Yeah right. He'd lost Mary all those years to the yellow eyed bastard, who was now back in black (or was it yellow?) in Kansas. He should have been more motivated then ever to kill that thing. But he had Mary back. There was more of a motivation to send time with her, then there was to go running off after YED again. There would always be that tiny voice in the back of his mind that wanted revenge, but wasn't life just a little too short for all that? John was torn. He'd trained Sam and Dean up into good hunters, maybe it was time he step back and let them take over the family business.
Unlikely. But it was a nice thought. Maybe one day he would be able to put away truckzilla and focus on being a real family man. The apocalypse was still a looming reality, and John couldn't let his guard down and let it sneak up on them again. He still had work to do. Things to hunt, and people to save. It would always be that way, but at least this time around he wasn't forced to play the part of drill sergeant. Sam was independent and practically set to be married soon. A demon..That part still made his stomach clench but, Dean...Dean was another story all together. The way he was behaving lately was irrational at best. The drunk posts were starting to show one after another, and John was worried. He didn't speak his mind often, it just wasn't his way but he was concerned.
Dean was a good hunter. A good son. He needed his oldest boy back. He couldn't be worrying whether or not he was going to show up to a hunt drunk off his ass. They were going to have to do something about that soon. He was going to have to do something about that soon.
But now there was something more important on his mind. Date night. Their first real date since either of them had been back from the dead, and John couldn't help but feel a little anxious. He was dressed casually, but nicely. To the point where Mary might actually believe he'd put effort into picking out his clothes and running a comb through his hair.
"Ready yet?" He asked for at least the third time as he looked down at his watch.
