Who: Vi and Shawn What: A random meeting! When: tonight Where: The kitchen of the complex Warnings: should be low.
Shawn was bored out of his mind. The Christmas music playing on a loop was driving him crazy. Thank god it was about to be shut off for the night soon. He wasn't entirely sure if it would be by him or Quinn, that teenager with the baby, but either way it was going off soon. Or he was going to beat the CD player with a hammer. Shawn loved holidays, even though none of them ever turned out right for him after his mom took off when he was a kid. His dad was always a major buzzkill but that didn't stop his Christmas cheer and dinner festivities. Christmas had always been kind of a big deal, even if his dad was a Grinch. There was Christmas dinner, some years at his house and some years at Gus'. But this year it was low key. This year there was no Gus, and truth be told, Shawn was starting to feel the effects of lacking his best friend and partner in crime.
There were demons with anger problems, and ghosts, and everything that went bump in the night actually existing, but no Gus. Shawn had never felt more alone, and it was depressing. He always had an appetite, but that night when it came to his late night snack he found it was lacking severely. He'd prepared a sandwich piled high with turkey meat and avocado, but he hadn't touched it. He only looked at it like it was getting ready to eat him instead and was possessed. He'd tried to make things right by explaining himself, but per usual it didn't seem to matter. So like all too often lately, he found himself sitting alone in the kitchen. He never was very popular when it came to people, and it rarely bothered him before. but other dimensions were different in that wacky kind of way.
Shawn was in a mood. He always put up a cheerful front and tried to make the best of things, but this time the mood was winning out. It was Christmas time. The place was decorated and looked like Christmas threw up. But he just wasn't feeling it. Not even his coffee was doing the trick. He ran a hand through his dark hair and shifted in his chair. He wondered what new cases Lassiter was working on, and if he was doing it right. He wondered about his business, and Juliet. About home in general and he sighed. "If I only had the DeLorean I wouldn't be in this mess."
