The sulking had stopped, she could always make him calm again, always make him happy. It was something she'd learned to do in the last few months and she had to admit it felt good. Her palm stayed where it was until he leaned back to get the notepaper and pen for her.
Almost reluctantly she stepped back giving him room to climb out of and lock her car as he explained how this would go.
"Stand there and look pretty. Check." she told him shaking out her hair slightly so it fell around her face. "And I don't plan to talk. I'm terrified of screwing this up for you so the best thing is if I just look like the assistant."
She leaned in for a quick kiss still out of sight of the police station.
"It'll work, you'll make it work and you'll fix this for me. For everyone"
