She believed him, that he'd fix it, that he'd make it all okay again. Because thats what he did. She did a lot for Sam but equally he did a lot for her, especially with this, especially feeling as she did right now. And so with her eyes still closed, and the lazy jokey question of asking him to sing. Ruby was suprised when he took her hand, lying beside her.
He actually started to sing, and not his song. The Doors. He knew the lyrics, and he could hold a tune much as it wasn't the best she'd ever heard, right then it really did feel like it was. She kept her eyes closed, just listening to him and being grateful that he was here, with her, she felt calmer, and with her eyes closed she couldn't see the cracks in the ceiling.
"They're going to destroy. Our casual joys" she sang softly, joining in squeezing his hand back and ignoring the mocking laughter at her side. She could force it away. It wasn't even Azazel anyway, he'd never have said those sorts of things to her. He'd be proud of her, he'd understand. This was just some ghost playing with her.
She got her breathing back under control as he continued singing. Calmer, just by being in his company.
